The answer is this. The McCain campaign is tanking in every poll, including the Ramussan poll. The McCain campaign cannot discuss the economy because McCain is equated to W on that issue. So, the McCain campaign must attack Obama and make people think he is a muslim terrorist, which is the point of the attacks no mater what the McCain campaign or anyone else may say to the contrary.
I wish they would talk about the economy and the disaster it would be if Obama is allowed to raise taxes on businesses during a recession. I don't think anyone cares that much about Obama and his weird associates, they want to hear a plan. In the absence of McCain presenting one, they are willing to follow the pied piper to the depths of a full-scale old-style depression.
Although, they do have a point with Ayers. I mean, it's no different than if McCain was palling around with Terry Nichols. Obama KNEW that Ayers had been a terrorist before he associated with him. Obama announced his first candidacy from Ayers home, they shared the same stage in 96, and they served on several small (4 member) boards together. He's not a stranger at all. If the same revelation came to light about McCain hanging out with the guys from the My Lai Massacre, he'd never be forgiven, but because we're talking about "The Messiah" it's all okay. Saying that Ayers committed crimes when Obama was 9 is a CONDEMNATION of Obama, not a valid excuse. Tim McVeigh bombed the Murrah building when I was 15, so if he were alive and I associated with him while running for president, that should be a condemnation of me, not an excuse because I was 15.

Yes, that had to be the most tragic thing ever. The SNL thing was truly hilarious.

Yeah right Nichols and McVeigh were responsible for the worst homegrown terrorist attack in US History..Ayers didn't kill anyone and there is no evidence he even planted a bomb. he wasn't even convitced.lame analogy.Gramps and the snowbilly are desperate it is as simple as that.

At a McCain rally on Monday when the crazy old coot brought up Obama some rube in the audience actuallly screamed out 'terrorist".I hope there aren't enough stupid rednecks left in this country to buy this bull****.I am so looking forward to McCain/Palin going down..I'm sure we'll see more of their true character as they do.

Ayers actually admitted it and said that he'd "wished he'd done more." He also said when asked if he thought he had done something wrong, "I don't think so. I think what we did was to respond to a situation that was unconscionable" I have a hard time believing that you find a guy acceptible that hangs out and announced his candidacy for the state senate in the house of a guy who founded a group that attacked the Pentagon. Especially one that is totally unrepentant. Seriously, if McCain was Ayers pal, you'd be all over him. There's a complete double standard here. The Weathermen, which Ayers co-founded has an extremely violent and reckless history. The fact is that they did kill people, just wiki them. They actually set off an anti-personnel bomb and set a prairie fire, started a riot as well as bombed the Pentagon. They also tried to assassinate a Supreme Court Justice. They could have easily killed someone and the weapons they used proved their intent to do just that.

If you don't like the Ayers analogy, how about David Duke? As far as anyone knows, he never personally broke any laws, but he headed up a terrorist group. So, if McCain were to have sat on two boards, held fundraisers with, and shared a stage with David Duke, he would be disqualified and would have to resign in disgrace.

Here's a list of the terrorist acts of the Weathermen Underground. Also, they hit us more than Al Queda has.

2.1 "Days of Rage"
2.2 Declaration of a State of War
2.3 Anti-personnel bomb set on window-ledge in San Francisco
2.4 Initial New York City Bombings
2.5 Greenwich Village explosion
2.6 Underground
2.7 Prairie Fire
2.8 Timothy Leary prison break

I cannot fathom how anyone can defend this.

Well, let's see. Obama announced his candidacy at Ayers' home, they gave speeches together, they served on two boards together, they have mutual friends, one of which (according to Obama's own book, nonetheless) stated that he'd used Ayers' connections to get ahead in Illinois politics. Yes, that sounds exactly like just passing on the subway and a loose association.

And you voted for a President that started a war on false pretenses ??! Really how can you even say anything after that.Alot of other people in Chicago hung out with Ayers includling the mayors so BFD to me if Obama did.I also can't believe you would now support someone engaged in race baiting and fear mongering of the worst variety.

Yes, you can tell times are desperate for Republicans when you have to compare the Weathermen to Al Qaeda (3000+ deaths on American soil) in order to spin a story.

What a joke.

Basically, Chicago is corrupt. When hasn't it been?

Okay, watch this then:

http://www.hulu.com/watch/9596/meet-...ovember-9-1997

Clinton used the exact same reasons to go to war on this episode of Meet the Press that Bush iterated six years later. Given that this was 1997, according to what you are saying, that means that somehow while Bush was governor of Texas he must have lied to Bill Clinton too, 6 years earlier. Clinton must have listened to Bush over his own Secretary of State, his own National Security Advisor, over all of the foreign policy experts under his employ, just to listen to the then governor of Texas. Bush must have lied to the Russians, British and French 6 years before starting the war too. That position that "Bush lied" has been disproven to the point of ridiculousness. How can anyone watch Bill Clinton say the exact same thing as Bush six years earlier and still maintain that Bush lied? Yours is a common, but not a defendable position, it's just one that sounds great on a bumper sticker. Unfortunately, what goes on bumper stickers often passes for truth. Goebbles would be proud of American politics. We repeat lies (such as the one that "Bush lied") that they sound like the truth despite overwhelming facts that contradict popular opinion.

Give me an example of McCain race baiting. He hasn't done it. What I do see are Obama surrogates using race as an excuse in case he loses. Do a google search and you'll see a ton of articles on the subject. McCain has not mentioned his race once.

What a joke.
I guess planting bombs, starting fires, attempted assassinations, and riots are what you like to watch for laughs. Who needs The Office when you have Bernadine Dohrn and her band of roving comedians? Let's all laugh so hard we wet ourselves to execution videos. Here's one you can have a good laugh at:

I'm sorry, do you want to address the comparison you made, or not?

Or is this just another "2008 Midwest Floods were worse than Katrina" load of BS?

I did respond, you might want to reread what I posted. You might have missed it, since I've posted a few times since then. I've also made a few comparisons today, so I don't know which one you are specifically referring to: comparing the Weather Underground to Al Queda or Obama's Ayers connection to McVeigh or Duke. Either way I responded. You may want to watch the videos I posted. The images do most of the response I need. My point was that the Weather Undergound hit us more frequently than Al Queda has, which is true. The death toll is much less, the Weather Underground were sometimes incompetent and mostly killed themselves in botched attacks.

Based on what?

You had the Keating 5 case 20 years ago for Arizona, which was not limited to Arizona anyway. McCain and Glenn were cleared.
I can't think of any major corruption cases, terrorists getting involved in politics, gangsters or mobs in Alaska. Face it, Chicago has had a long and storied history of gangs, corruption, murder, vice and graft. Everyone knows it too. One funny fact is that the Chicago murder rate on any given month is more than the death toll of the war in Iraq.

I am completely aware of Weather Underground, and its participants... and you'd have to be a f'ing partisan moron (a stretch, I'm sure) to honestly, truthfully (to yourself) think it even begins to compare to Al Qaeda.
