Since I have not heard any of the Demos from LB OR SN I cannot comment on them. Some of the songs to me have intriging titles and If the list holds up then I think that we will all be generally pleased with the new album

Thumbs up Seems interesting...

guess we'll just have to be patient to see exactly the actual order the songs will be in...Brian J.

Aaaah, I kind of liked Space Needle. I didn't get it, but I liked it.

Chili, I thought the same thing. I even went to read Shuffle Riff's lyrics to find a connection. I suppose that could be it if Lindsey changed some of the lyrics.
I never would have made that connection.Fingers crossed ! The inclusion of Shuffle Riff in some form or another will make up for the exclusion of Down On Rodeo (because when all's said and done we all have a pretty good copy of Down On Rodeo, but Shuffle Riff is a pretty roughish cut.

(Speaking of which - I saw in the Sunday ads this weekend that Bon Jovi has relelased an 8-song CD of unreleased songs exclusively to Target...we can only hope that FM decides to do something similar.)
Ooh, now THAT would be exciting!
I would just die to hear them do Without You especially if they did it live. I can't decide whether I'd rather hear it with just acoustic guitar (like Landslide) or with lots of instruments, percussion, and some modern sounds.
I can understand the wide range of opinions on Miranda. Lyrically it is very different. But listen to all those overlapping guitars... It's pure Lindsey. I love the guitar riffs in that song. I also love the way it's panned...the way his voice bounces from the left to right speakers.

The official title of "Shuffle Riff" (or "Hit & Run" as you may know it) is "Wait For You" as at December 2000. Of course, this may have changed since but I would think it unlikely.

I would have loved "Annabel Lee" as well but I had a feeling it wouldn't be included.

My, I had to get out the smelling salts after reading all the anti-Miranda comments. This is one of the songs that I immediately liked. And, in my humble view, it sounds more "Fleetwood Mac" than a lot of the other GOS stuff. The lyrics are second to none. I think it is a fine choice.

However, I definitely agree that if Down on Rodeo is not in the album, it will be a glaring omission. I mean, think about it. Lindsey even played and sang a few bars of it on his Behind the Music. What's up with that?

On the positive side, I am quite happy that Say Goodbye appears on this would-be track list.

I am hoping that one of the songs that we have never heard of is a song that was co-written by Stevie and Lindsey and hope that it gets recorded as a duet.

I don't think so. As of October 2001, it was just called "Shuffle Riff."

I feel you pain on this one. I thought that Annabel Lee and Space Needle were the two strongest TISL outtakes. (Space Needle needed a little more work though, some of the phrasing and rhyming were atrocious and way too contrived. I'm thinking especially of that one verse that ends with 'it is never sunny' or something like that. But all in all it has terrific potential.) Somehow I knew Lindsey would choose Thrown Down to work with though. I don't think we've seen the last of the others though, they're too good to bury and forget about.

Heart

I find that, like 90 percent of the time, I like the boot version better no matter which I listen to first. I just accept this and shamelessly embrace the boots

I'm a "Miranda" fan as well.
I even include it when I make compilation CDs... so I'm definitely happy it'll be on the album.

But still... I'm bummed about the omission of the others I previously mentioned.

*brief period of mourning*

Ah well, at least I have my mp3s (and the hope that they may still turn up "officially" at some point).
