Default It sounds good...

But I am only occassional glancing up at the TV since I am current doing some 'digital editing' of a compact disc.

'Sara' sounded a but shaky at the beginning...

I liked what they did with 'In the Still of the Night' or 'How Still My Love' or whatever it's called now. It was a much sexier song done that way.

Umm, everything up to 'Fall From Grace' was kind of flat for me though. More Stevie singing the songs than really getting into them. I'll put that down to repetition over the years. I guess I'm used to seeing Stevie sort of drifting off somewhere in her own thoughts when she's singing a song. That's kind of not there.

But she did look great. Mebbe a little heavy on the makeup in close-ups as far as seeing foundation. But otherwise she looked good. Fab.

This was on the HD channel in Pittsburgh at 10. Lucky I checked. It's supposed to be on the SD channel July 21 at one am too.

("How Still My Love") but "I Need to Know" needs to go....

She needs to rock it up more as Poison recently did with this Tom Petty track on their "Poison'd" compilation disc.

Excellent !!!

I think what I am noticing and other people too I think is that we are used to seeing Stevie perform more "in the moment" of the song. With this being taped and I am sure some songs were done a couple of times? that maybe a little bit of the performance seems too polished, but have to expect that type of thing in a professionally shot and edited DVD.

I am just so happy that we got a DVD to play again and again in high quality.

I thought this was a great performance! As far as live tapings go, I think this is the most "into her performance" that I've seen since the HBO Bella Donna special. Lots of hand gestures and dancing, some spinning, and she looks phenomenal! Very thin! I really like her cover of "Rock 'N Roll;" she gets really into it. It would be fun if they included the Bob Segar cover she just did - "Face the Promise." She really rocked out during that. I think it's nice to see her do some different songs; whatever will keep her coming back again and again! Can't wait until next week for part 2!!!

on the 5.1 monitors I have, there was an obvious double of Stevie's vocals on "Crash"...Sounded alright regardless.

I wonder if OETA is only showing a shorten version (It was listed as Part 1 of 2 on the schedule), because "Rock N Roll" is now on immediately after "Crash".

She needs to rock a couple of songs up. Some of this reminded me of the 'Tango In The Night' video where she says, "Oooooh, ye-ahhh." a lot in songs. Kind of lifeless. "I'm here. I'm singing THIS song again. Oooooh, ye-ahhhh." Blah.

I did like 'Crash' a lot. She 'can' rock it out when she wants and I want her to do that more!

The live show we saw was awesome. I want my mom to tell me later which one she thinks is better. And then I'll tell you all what she said...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well we watched it together. When I got to her house she was watching CBS, some show with Marg Helgenberger and I said it should be on now so switch the channel. She said it's on. I said it's on PBS not CBS and she said it's the right channel. I said no, can't you see the CBS symbol in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. So she hit channel 2 on the remote and nothing happened. I said you have to hit 02 to get channel 2.
She got it right and we missed maybe the first 30 seconds. Stand Back, Stand Back. The tv in front of us along with a large mirror where I could watch the tv and her facial expressions at the same time. She looked bored silly thru the whole thing but when I asked her if she was bored she said no. She had a hard time understanding the words. Here's a good one for you. At the end of SARA when she sings, "all I ever wanted was to know that you were dreaming" my mother said/asked, "was to know that you were a free man?"
I laughed and told her all us fans laugh at ourselves when we find out what she was really saying compared to what we thought she was saying.
She said the show was better in person. She commented that the show was edited cause of the different outfits, but they never showed Stevie leave the stage.
She said she could see Stevies' face better on tv than in person.
My only gripe would be that I didn't like the fact that the camera was all over the place. In every song the camera panned over everyone. After all it's Stevie Nicks not the SN Band. All the band members except Al Ortiz were shown constantly. Only one quick closeup of Al and then most of the time you'd hardly see him at all, like he wasn't even there.
I kept thinking I wish they'd show at least one song where it's all Stevie but that never happened.
The vocals were crisp and clear, a very good recording and ofcourse the lady looked beautiful.
The funniest part for me was when she said the director wanted to get the song SARA on tape before the world blows up!!!
Enjoy it everyone. Also there were no pledge breaks. They played it straight thru the full one hour, no interruptions.

Wasn't this supposed to be broadcast in HD? I watched a little bit of it tonight on KOPB's HD channel, and no HD.

The little that I saw cemented the fact that I'll never pay $80 to see a short (13) song Stevie solo show. No thanks.

OK, who put the ultra sexy pills into Stevie's tea? That girl has been practicing some dance moves. How Still in the Night was so good and its not even one of my favorite songs but she was really into that dance at the end
