Default Mandy Moore opening for Stevie

My bf asked me tonight if I was excited to see Mandy Moore next weekend. I was confused and then he told me she was opening for Stevie. So I checked MM's Myspace and sure enough she is opening at the Boston and Toledo shows. I'm not really that familar with her music....thoughts??

There is a "Best of Mandy Moore" type album on iTunes if you want to seriously explore her music. Or you could listen to a few clips either way.

Yes, I listened to her Myspace stuff and some of her iTunes clips already. I am more interested to see if there is anyone here who already listens to her music and what people thought of the pairing.

Mandy is a cute girl, but as far as her music goes.......I've had one of her CD's over a year but still have not got around to opening it yet.

If opening acts cut short the main acts who needs them? This is especially true at the casinos. They want their customers back out on the floor gambling.

I've seen her on interviews promoting her movies, but never knew much about her singing. I don't know . . . seeing her once might be interesting.

Well, since I'll be at both Boston and Toledo I think I'll stay behind at my hotel and watch my copy of the lesbian porno with Madeline Albright and Janet Reno, then show up just in time for Stevie...

Just listened to some of her new tracks from her myspace page, and she's really not bad at all. She's come a long way from her first album. She had a pretty popular song called "Candy" which made it seem like she would be going the route of Britany Spears and Jessica Simpson, but it wasn't long lived, thank goodness. In fact, she sometimes is criticized for looking and acting much older than she is. She's had a few songs that may be familiar to some, including "Cry" from the movie "A Walk to Remember", which she also starred in, and another song called "Crush". The past several years she has appeared in several movies "Because I Said So", "American Dreamz", "Saved" and "Licensed to Wed". I do think it's a strange pairing, but after listening to some of her new songs, it might be a very smart move for her, because she could potentially get some new fans out of it. I'd recommend not showing up late, or spending the whole time getting t-shirts and beer. Look at it this way, you already paid for the ticket, why not expose yourself to something new that you might end up enjoying?

I should say that I do not work for Mandy Moore, or anyone she is affiliated with!

Years ago Mandy Moore refocused her career to acting (Saved!, License to Wed, Southland Tales, Because I Said So, etc.) and she's abandoned the dance-pop music she released as a teenager. Her last two albums were more along the lines of Paula Cole, who she recently toured with.

Here's a live, acoustic cover of Rihanna's Umbrella that got some play on AAA radio.

This....made me laugh out loud.

And as I sit through Mandy's set in Toledo, I really hope I don't regret missing any Mad and Jan sexy time.

She was very good in 'License To Wed', really! I was hoping she'd do more films in that vein, I really liked her. Some actresses are well suited for romantic comedy, she was cute and pretty and seemed to take direction well because she was funny and not wooden. I hope she has alot of success.

Hi

The best mandy moore album to preview is her latest, called Wild Hope

It is very folk, soft rock, a lot like Buckingham Nicks, in some respects

Enjoy the concert, wish i was going
