Hard to remember, isn't it? but can you give a list of possible first movies you've ever watched? Or maybe you remember clearly. Or maybe your parents told you.
I don't remember exactly, and my parents never mentioned, so I have just fragments of memories from some movies, then my first movie ever watched could be one of these: Planet of the apes Aristocats Bambi Bedknobs and Broomsticks It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World |

WLIW/WNET in the New York area always used to play this film around Thanksgiving... was an early favorite of mine, and still is to this day!

I remember watching Born Free and Willie Wonka when I was very young (no older than three). My parents say that Snow White was the first movie I ever saw in the theater. I know that my little brother's first movie in the theater was Sleeping Beauty, and when the lights came up at the end, he was overcome by the experience and shouted at the top of his lungs, "Kiss, me Mommy!"
(He'll never live it down.)I was a little older when The Champ came out, and I remember not wanting anyone to know that the ending made me tear up. - Jake

Mama said she took us to Fantasia once and we hated...she said we cried so much she just took us out of there. I saw Return of the Jedi too...I would've been 4 but I dont remember that.

Probably some Disney flick. Back when I was a kid (long before home video) the Disney classics only came out every four years, so we always went.

Same with me. Probably Bambi or Fantasia. I do remember seeing Ben-Hur (NOT in 1956!)

My parents took my sister and I to see Pete's Dragon at Radio City Music Hall in NYC...I'm from New Jersey and we lived about 30 mins away from the city...that was really special seeing a movie there.

First movie I remember seeing was "The Wizard of Oz," when I was 3. I remember that night very well - we had a babysitter - my parents went to a drag party where the men had to dress like women and vice versa. My dad was a flamenco dancer and my mom was a bandido. I should scan the pics!
First movie in a theater was probably something Disney. |

I think mine might have been 'The Adventures of The Wilderness Family' in 1975, when I was 5 years old. It's possible there was some movies before that, but this is about the furthest I can go back and actually remember going to the theater. I liked it, and I was very good in the theater.
A movie on TV might very well have been the annual showing of 'The Wizard of Oz'. Remember it was only shown once per year? What an event that was! It was like Halloween and Christmas rolled into one! I knew even as video tapes came out, that the whole magic of it would be gone. And I was right. No kids today can imagine what a treat it was to wait for 'Oz', or wait until Thanksgiving to see 'King Kong' and 'Mighty Joe Young' on channel 9! Or, wait until close to Christmas time to see 'March of The Wooden Soldiers' on channel 11 with Laurel and Hardy. |

I can't literally remember the very first movie I ever saw, but it might have been Oz or one of the Rankin-Bass Christmas movies. There's really no telling what it was. After all, this was probably 60 years ago or more.
