AP-Vick Sentencing URGENT

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - NFL quarterback Michael Vick has been sentenced to 23 months in prison for his role in a dogfighting conspiracy.
Vick pleaded guilty in August, admitting that he bankrolled the "Bad Newz Kennels" dogfighting operation and that he helped kill six to eight dogs.
The suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback could have received up to five years behind bars.

Wow. 2 years for killing dogs AND he plead guilty. Amazing. Well, at least maybe that'll teach the bastid a lesson.

I think that is on the low end of fair. I do not think he actually killed the dogs, though supporting it is awful as well. Also, this two or so years come on the heels of him losing tens of millions of dollars and likely going broke. Personally, I think he should have gotten longer. I wonder what the sentence rec. is as opposed to the statutory time?

Vick must serve a minimum 18 months according to the news reports.
