Default What Era Does This Picture Originate From?

I know this is silly coming from me, but I just can't put a finger on exactly when this oh-so-sublimely tusktacular photograph was taken. I've always had it filed as a "Wild Heart" photo, but it could be a "Tusk" image, or even "Mirage."

Someone please help me!

Bella Donna, here's the complete (well, sorta) photoshoot:

That original shot you posted was used (cropped) as the cover for the "Nightbird" sleeve. But yeah it's a "Bella Donna" era shot. Stevie's eras are generally VERY easy to spot. The 70's Stevie and the 80's Stevie are usually very different. Stevie's look changed slightly from album to album, unlike now where Stevie has had the exact same look going for the past ten years.

The short-sleaved lace top is a good indicator that this period is greater than or equal to the 'Tusk' era and less than 'OSOTM'. So, 1980 through 1988 give or take.
Also, look at the hair- we can see that Stevie had a few different hair periods:

Buck/Nicks to 1974- long, straight, center part 'Marcia Brady' style. Mousy colored.

1974-1978- 'Jane Fonda' style shag, layers, morphing into 'Farrah' by '78. Still mousy colored, sometimes streaked with red, green or silver for stage.

1979-1980- Perm, blown-out. Fuller, bushier, sometimes with a bun. Silver highlights, chestnut color.

1980-1982- Back to layers, more blown-out, blonder, and longer. Feathered and winged back, classic 'Stevie' hair that most people remember.

1983-1985- Shorter, back to tight perm. Morphing into two-toned dark on bottom lighter on top look.

1986-1988- 'Hair metal' glam hair. Very blonde, very blown out and lots of hair product enabling great heights. Think Nancy Wilson, David Coverdale or the guys from 'Poison'.

1988-1993- stiff, blonder almost platinum. Hair products liberally applied creating 'halo' of hair, longer.

1993-1996- crimping experiments, braiding/blow-outs (the 'root perm'), side part, back to a more moussy color.

1997-2003- back to blonder, long straight with bangs and side part. 'Dance' era hair.

2003- experiement with long straight and center part.

2003- present- back to 'Dance' era hair.

I recall seeing this picture on the cover of "High Times" in the 1981-1982 timeframe. Hopefully this whittles the "timespace" down somewhat. My feeling is that this is during that post-Tusk/Pre-Bella Donna phase during which Stevie still had the moussy "Tusk poodle" 'do and was starting to experiment with that whole witchy-woman persona. For BD and thereafter, Stevie maintained a far more blonde and banged look, and her hair became more fluffier vs. curly.

Are there enough adjectives in the English language to describe the changing seasons of Mama's mane?

Another indicator of which era is which is Stevie's weight, she lost a lot of weight during the Tusk tour. She wasn't heavy to begin with and when she lost the weight she looked even smaller. The song "Bella Donna" addresses this subject, she is "the woman" in the song. Those around her were getting worried because she was getting so skinny. She had put the weight back on by the time of "Wild Heart". Again, she was by no means fat during time, but she was the smallest she had ever been between 1980 and 1982.

And the woman may be awestruck
And the woman may truly care
but the woman is so tired...
So the woman dissappears...

Come in out of the darkness...

Bella donna...my soul...

Don't change...baby please don't change
And you say...
and your face becomes thin
You never thought it could
Come in out of the darkness
Bella donna...

Geez... if only I could remember truly important things this well!

Would anyone happen to have this "exclusive" interview? I wonder why Stevie would grant High Times her first solo interview, and whether they lobbed any herbally-related questions her way. And am I the only one who is a bit titillated by seeing Stevie share the cover of a magazine with the words "coke whore?"

BTW, the art director must have been high on something when he designed the layout for this cover.

It doesn't look like "Tusk" era Stevie. I would say either "Bella Donna" or "The Wild Heart."

The magazine claimed this was her first solo interview but by the time this hit newsstands she had done many already.
