Talking your Thrown Down video!

I posted this in the Rumours forum as well, but thought I'd add it here too . Ok... so let's say that Thrown Down is to be the first single off the new Mac album. Make up your idea for a video!

I've got an idea where the guy who keeps falling for her is this obsessed fan. It's all about his attempts to show Stevie his love, and "prove he could be good for her." The whole video is leading up to a Mac concert in a big venue. Fans end up "throwing down the barricades" all in attempts to get to the group . It'd all be kinda humorous like Matchbox Twenty's Mad Season video.

Nah, we all know what that song is about, and it's not about someone outside the group.

If they were to make a video, it would have to include alot of symbolism that pulls in images from the past, tying it all up with events of the present, and then leaving the whole thing open-ended as to what will happen.

They could use alot of misty dream imagery......
Stevie walking on the beach barefoot at sunset in a long fringy shawl, looking out at the sea. The wind blows her hair softly. There are images that are beautiful, but also have a history, things like sunflowers, dusty pink landscapes, blue-white flames, doorways, birds in flight, candles burning down, water fountains, reflecting pools, spinning worlds, night hawks and white wing doves, ghostly images that recede into fog, and of course angels.

The video doesn't have to really tell a story, just invoke alot of Stevie's imagery from her lyrics. The song Thrown Down is a very open-ended song. It just talks about this relationship that is complicated and full of barriers right now, and how she is overwhelmed, but it doesn't have her making any firm decisions about anything. She is just reflecting and contemplating this relationship, and I think it would be appropriate to have a video that people can interpret any number of ways.

Oh, and before I get jumped on, yes, the guys should be interwoven throughout the tableaus.......esp. Lindsey.

When I first heard Thrown Down, I pictured a country house at dusk. Then for the chorus I pictured her in front of this gorgeous fountain. For some reason, that's what I see, and that's all the imagery I get out of this song. I think this should be the kind of video where there's a story going on about other people, and the band is kind of there in the background watching and doing their thing. So, I picture a guy coming to meet this girl at this country house, while the band plays in front of this huge fountain. Don't ask me...I get weird visions.
