Smile Landslide

I was watching something on TV last night when I just happened to see in the paper the the Dixie Chicks where on TV in a special. I got my husband to turn the channel just in time for the start of Landslide. Natalie Maines said that this is a Stevie Nicks song, & she wrote this song when she was 27 (which I didn't know). And she said that this had a special meaning for her at 27 b/c she's "getting older too". I like the way they sing Landslide, but not as much as I like Stevie singing it in The Dance. Did anybody else see the show? They said it was taped in LA, but didn't say when.

BTW, I must say here that I was surprised to see Natalie dressed very nicely. Last time I saw her she was wearing a bad, weird outfit at some awards show.

Stevie has said repeatedly that she wrote the song in the fall of 1974 in Aspen along with "Rhiannon "a couple of months before she and Lindsey joined FM ,so actually she 26 was at the time.

Poor Stevie - sometimes she gets the dates mixed up! I guess it's only natural when you give as many interviews as she does.

Gee...or maybe she was just rounding up since she was actually about 26.5 at the time...26 or 27... same difference...who cares!

I saw the Dixie Chicks special last night too. I have to say that I really enjoyed it! I liked their version of Landslide, but of course, nothing compares to the original. They really did have their fans on their feet for almost the entire show though didn't they!

Lee...I read that it was taped back in August at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.

Well you better start having your fit now then. By the time the new record is out maybe you will be over it.
I think Sheryl is playing keyboards on one song anyway.
I can't belive some of you and your hateful attitude towards her.

Just my thoughts. Alison

hey, Lee, my hubby was also flipping channels and also turned right into Dixie Chicks and Landslide and after 15 years of marriage, he knew to stay put!!!

but what was nice is that hearing Natalies voice which he really liked, he says "you know, you gotta give Stevie her credit, she writes some really pretty songs, really good". I guess sometimes you need to hear another voice sing a songwriters songs to really appreciate them. He also said some other nice stuff about After the Glitter Fades and Trouble in Shangri-La.

tho he did end it later with a "Stevie being part owner of the Twinkie plant" comment...men never really change!!

Aaaaaarggggghhh! I'm so mad...I've been looking for this everywhere, and can't find it. I really want it!

I don't like Sheryl's remix. I don't like the added drums, and I miss the banjo.
