well, the white trash wasn't necessarily cracker barrel. it was the fact that in my hometown, they just opened a brand new one (we don't even have a movie theater here ) TODAY! i've been looking at the billboards for months. "cracker barrel! opens! june 18th!! take the first exit blah blah" ...oh..white trash, right. the white trash part comes where if need be, I was gonna flash my id to tell them it was MY god damn birthday and I want to be moved to the front of the line!!! luckily for them, they weren't that busy

mmmmmmmmm.......and yes, I know that's a lot of carbs on that plate. I planned it that way

I'm not sure what some of that stuff is. That's okay, though. Because that is how I describe many of my tasty birthday or otherwise outings - "white trash". Not Kentucky style, I'm sure, but nevertheless, Calitrashilicious.

Oh, it's a whole...food chain thingy? With accusations of descrimination? But what good...food chain thingy...doesn't have that? It seems like...how happy I would be to scarf some oozings at Denny's on my birthday? Except without grits with salt in them. Cause sugar and cream instead.

Wow, actually, with those grubbins, which I can't identify but that seem greasily delicious, your birthday is better than I thought before.

"The outer porch of a Cracker Barrel store has rows of rocking chairs for guests to enjoy before or after eating, and there is usually a fireplace and a checkers table within the dining area for an added country feel."

Yeah, I was talking about this:

It's good for birthdays, too! Now I feel like some kind of assy type of low budget
mom-cheese snob. Meh. I'll eat any cheese. And I'd probably eat what is on that plate, even though I can't identify it.

So, WTF, did you get any presents, or what?!?

I don't know, I got the condensed voicemail version. It's funny to me to think that this guy was hitching across the country while never using a traditional bathroom. A cup here, a box there. Whatever works.

Stay away from the beverages in Ohio! The locals have adapted to them over the years so they're immune. Outsiders aren't so lucky. Think Montezuma's revenge...multiplied by like...a billion.

You mean the checkers? Or the rocking chairs? Or the fiyah? It sounds pretty nice, gotta say. I've had baked apples and dumplings...once, I think...not together...I was all weirded out b/c my mom put dumplings in stew, then they were all soggy. I guess I don't understand dumplings? Baked apples, though...mmm...

In fact, here, we'd be like "A wood burning pizza oven, serving delicious california quisine, featuring fresh local organic in season herbs and veggies, a treat for Vegans, with a delightful patio on which a fire, and outdoor heaters, keep patrons delightfully warm while they enjoy local made wood furniture and delight in the occasional game of checkers, and local jazz bands playing most nights"

You gotta go to our lovely redneck whitebread mountain foothill towns for what yer talking about. Luckily, my parents live there. I still don't think I've ever seen rocking chairs or checkers, though. Weak.

So, then, instead, I'd be way over at Denny's eating grease. But Denny's wouldn't have fire, rocking chairs, or checkers. They would have slightly belligerent loudmouth drunks.

My point? My point is that whenever I get over to your states, I'm hitting the Cracker Barrel, hard. In fact, the Cracker Barrel may be the whole impetus for any trip I take down theah. Word to the south.

Michelle, I must say, the more I hear about your Cracker Barrel birthday, the more I am convinced you may have had the ultimate birthday snacky greasy fun goodness. Just saying. Never been there, don't know for sure, but it is sounding pretty awesome.

I'm talking all three. Gotta go for the trifecta when Cracker Barrel is involved. Actually, you really don't have a choice because you leave your table so incredibly stuffed that the rocking chairs are as far as you could make it before collapsing for a long sleep.

I've already warned security and they've locked our borders tight. No Ohioans allowed.

oh, and I don't think that's gonna be lemonade.

the only record is the fact that YOU were driving down an OHIO highway and saw a random man on the side of the road, pissing in a pizza hut cup. ON the side of the road. FACING traffic. While pissing. In a pizza hut cup. On the side of the road. IN Ohio.

DAMN this has been a great birthday!!!

although I was a little disappointed bop didn't wish me a happy b-day bastard
