Default Lindsey/Stevie Blurb in 100th Issue of Performing Songwriter

Since this is the 100th issue of the magazine, it's a retrospective of all the issues they've released thus far. Commentary, etc. I found this blurb in a section that included the interviewer's comments about interviews in each issue.

I met Lindsey in L.A. the same day that I met Stevie Nicks. I thought it was telling that they didn't want to be interviewed together. And sure enough, both admitted that in Fleetwood Mac, the soap opera that began with Rumours was still going on.

There was an interesting "he said, she said" element to these interviews, especially when it came to the subject of Stevie's songs. Lindsey, while being highly complimentary of her writing, said that basically Stevie brought him these kind of formless, intuitive melodies with lyrics and he shaped them into songs. When I asked Stevie about Lindsey's contribution to her new material, she said tersely that he didn't add that much. - BD

lol. There is also a Stevie blurb, but it doesn't mention Lindsey. Should I go ahead and post it here? I don't post on the Stevie forum.

Go ahead, Sarah! Why don't you post on the Stevie-forum? Is it the same reason why I just rarely turn up there?

Even though I have the albums, Stevie's solo career is completely uninteresting to me. I actually kind of hate her 80's songs all together to be honest. I don't have any comments about her fans there.. I'm sure they're all fine. I just couldn't care less about her solo stuff.

Here's the Stevie blurb.

Stevie Nicks
Issue 69, May 2003

I went to Stevie's beautiful Spanish-style villa, built on a cliff overlooking the ocean in Santa Monica. Her assistant showed me into a large room that was decorated with a mix of the fanciful and practical - antique velour chairs and paintings of dragons and gypsies sharing space with a treadmill and exercycle. On the mantel were photos of her with George Harrison, Tom Petty and Sheryl Crow. Suddenly from behind me I heard a husky voice say, "Hello there."

I turned and there she was, posed in the doorway, her long wavy hair spilling over a black shawl. It was a very theatrical moment, but just what you'd expect from Stevie Nicks.

Despite the Norma Desmond entrance, Stevie was very warm and welcoming, and completely unpretentious. It was a chilly day, and we sat in frong of her fireplace, talking about songwriting and the creative process. At one point, she jumped up and said, "Wait here." She ran off to her bedroom and returned with an armful of her personal journals. They were arty books, some covered in a velour print with paisley designs. She opened them to show me exactly how her lyrics evolved, from longhand prose entries to poems to lyric verse. It was an amazing glimpse into her writing life. - BD

Ouch, bad day in BuckinghamNicks land. It's not even true, I love it.
