Thumbs up Violet and Blue

Its weird, yesterday I decided to venture into Disc 3 of Enchanted...A disc which I really didn't pay much attention to ...and I discovered 'Violet and Blue'....This is probably becoming a favorite Stevie song for me....Anyone else like or dislike?

I love Violet and Blue. It is one of my favorite songs on Disc 3. Actually, there are quite a few songs on that disc that I really enjoy listening to.. Reconsider Me.. Thousand Days.. Battle of the Dragon and Gold and Braid.

I love Violet and Blue...I went through this period a few months back when it was the only song I would listen to..."Ten thousad times/I tried to tell you/When you close your eyes/I can't see inside you" is one of my favorite lyrics of all time...

Default yes!

yes, Violet and Blue is a kick-ass song! (parden the expression ) I also LOVE pretty much all of Disc 3. I just love Long Distance Winner (isn't Stevie's voice just great in this period ) Thousand Days, Battle of the Dragon, Blue Lamp (This is a great song, but i don't like how it fades out at the end just as she gets into it)....and of course Gold and Braid (their is so much great positive energy in this song!)...and the piano version of Rhiannon is just haunting...it is just as good as an early piano version i downloaded. now just imagine the possibilities of a disc 4! oh well, it IS a great collection just as it is!

Yeah...this is a great song. They played it on the radio back in the day when "Against All Odds" was playing in the theaters. "The Wild Heart" was pretty much done at that point (@1984) so it was cool to have this song out. I've always liked it. I especially love it during the "taaaaaaake it with you...uhh huh!" But then again, i always love it when she goes off.

Interesting tidbit...For this song, Stevie "borrowed" her "oooohs" from "Midnight Wind" (w/John Stewart - 1979)...Listen and you'll see.

this is a great song!!! ah hah!!

and I found another little gem, in the live version of I Need to Know from the House of Blues concert (I Need to Know is one of Stevie's signature encore songs)...she sings at the end of the song "well, take your violet and blue mornings with you".

does she always do that or if not does anyone know of any other concerts where she did that as well??? even with a cover song, Stevie knows how to make it her own...

Default i need to know!

I have INTN from HOB and it totally rocks! She also says "Take your violet and blue mornings with you" on the Red Rocks video, so I guess she just started putting that on the end to add her own personal touch when Violet and Blue came out.

Default Violet and Blue

Violet and Blue came out in 1984, but I'm not sure when the Tom Petty version of INTK came out....late 70's? I think on the performaces of INTK after 1984 (the release of "Violet and Blue") she added that to the end. On the Stevie Nicks concert vid. from 1981, she does NOT add that to the end, because VAB would not come out for 3 years!
