Default Quick Tampa Review... Great Show!

Stevie was bundled up for a cold winter's night in scarves and gloves and rocked the Tampa Ford Amp! She was energetic and having a great time. She played the Vegas setlist (including If Anyone Falls In Love). And, I got to shake her hand!!!! Sadly, since she was wearing gloves, I didn't actually touch her bare skin, but I still touched her!!!!

The concert was being held in the same place as the State Fair, so I got there at about six with my Dad. We walked around and got some yummy carnival food before the show. I even got to see the prize pigs, chickens, and goats (insert Stevie Nicks goat joke here). It was redneck-city! LOL You'll never guess who I saw at the prize-pig tent!!!! Stevie's drummer!!! I forget his name, but he is the one with the crazy hair. I thought it was odd that he was looking at the pigs and chickens just a few hours before show started, but I guess there was nothing better to do! I thought that was funny!

The show got started kind of late, but Stevie looked gorgeous, and she was really bundled up, considering it wasn't very cold out at all. She wore her long black dress/skirt for the whole show. I don't think she wore anything but that and the Beauty and the Beast outfit all night. She wore gloves for the entire show too. She wore platforms heels all night long. No sneakers at all!!!! Obviously, her injury (foot/back problems) are behind her.

She did the usual songs, of course, but she also did If Anyone Falls In Love. I thought her intro was funny: "This song was written, as most of them were, a long time ago"

Stand Back, as usual was my favorite song of the night. She did the twirls (in beautiful platform boots, the same ones she wore at Superbowl) and a semi-high kick. Then the audience went wild after the song and she said that Standback went over way better tonight, than at the Superbowl. She said something along the lines of "Superbowl was really bad, we had technical problems, but the only thing that made me feel better was that it rained way worse when Prince performed! Heeeheeeheeee!!!!" I get the feeling she doesn't like Prince!

We all rushed the stage during Edge, and Waddy was throwing guitar picks into the crowd. He threw out like ten guitar ppicks during that song. Sadly, I didn't get one! But I was close! He seemed to love the audience. He kept winking and talking to the crowd.

Stevie came out and the song rocked. My Dad and I both got to shake her silk-gloved hand! She looked me right in the eye and smiled at me. This was my third time shaking her hand! I was so excited!!! I love how genuine her smiles are. You can tell she loves her fans.

She then did Rock and Roll and a haunting version of Beauty and the Beast. It was a great show!!!! Stevie only gets better with age. And, I know we complain about the setlist a lot, but I still had a great time. I hadn't seen her live since the Gold Dust Tour, so it really didn't bother me that it was the same setlist.

The worst part about the evening was the traffic trying to get out of the parking lot. We were seriously in the parking lot for over an hour and a half in traffic. It sucked!!!! It took 90 minutes, just to move a few hundred feet.

To sum it all up... the show was amazing, as usual! Stevie is still the Queen of Rock and Roll.

Fantastic review!! Thank you.

Just curious, what was the temperature that evening? Stevie I am sure is used to LA/Arizona heat, so anything less than 60 degrees, she might be bundled up.

Anyway, I am glad it seems that Stevie is in better spirits and got the technical difficulty stuff fixed. Sad though that during the Super Bowl pre-game show is when all of this technical stuff happened.

I am glad that IAF is back in.. now we have to get HSML back in there.

Thanks for the review. Sounds a lot better than the Hard Rock show. It must have been really frustrating for her to have technical problems at the SB and then again at the Hard Rock. That probably explains her lackluster performance. At least the boots are back. I never thought I'd see her wear them again for a few songs, let alone the ENTIRE show. Let the frankenbocks rest in peace!

It was maybe 60 degrees. No colder than that. I was wearing a light jacket, but I started getting hot during Edge of Seventeen when everyone was all squished together! LOL! Gloves would have been overboard for anyone, but this is Stevie we are talking about! LOL! She looked great though.

I was so excited when she introduced If Anyone Falls In Love. I didn't think she was going to do it, but it was one of the best songs of the night. I love the acapella part where it is just Stevie and the girls singing at the end, with no music.

Was the concert sold out? Was the crowd into it? Sounds like Stevie was more relaxed and into it herself than Hardrock. Pictures or videos you can put on you tube or wwww.veoh.com......Thanks it would be appreciated.

She does. She was just probably giving him a hard time.

Sorry, I didn't get any pics.

The crowd was pretty into it. Most everyone stood the whole time and danced along to the music. Of course there were the usual drunk idiots who screamed "Take it off!" during Beauty and the Beast, but other than that the audience was pretty good.
