Supporting Johnny Stew's Ideas...

If I post this, this isn't another inviation to beat each other up with sarcasm.

This is just to show MY support for his original post regarding the fact many of us aren't thinking before we post. We are getting off in ticking each other off, we are getting off on writing posts masked with sincerety yet there is nothing sincere about them.

There are many cliques...groups of close friends and thats great. But the inside jokes and the ganging up on others is totally not cool and it won't be tolerated any longer because it just not mature to act that way when this is a public forum. Im not pointing fingers. In my mind...Im just thinking generally.

I just hope you all can just calm down so we can quit this closing down of well- intentioned threads. If you HATE Stevie, if you HATE the people posting...then don't post. There is alot to be said about walking away from people who bother you. There is alot to be said about just staying away from things you don't like. This board is remaining...the good WILL prevail and there is no destroying the inner happiness and peacefulness this board and site stands for.

This is a Stevie fan board...for Stevie fans. We can gush.

I just hope the sarcasm can be curbed. This isn't a thread starter, I just hope this is a thought starter because its what Johnny Stew tried to do.

Im not trying to bull ****.

Im trying to just make everyone see the pointlessness of fighting.

There is no point because it gets you nowhere. The satisfaction lasts seconds. Ruining people's days can last forever...

This is a fan board first and a discussion board second. We don't have to love Stevie or Lindsey or Fleetwood Mac, but why would you be on here if you didn't? That always confuses me.

We don't have to love each song and the pasts or paths they have taken, but there are ways to state opinions without being crass.

I don't love every Stevie song...I hate half of the Street Angel album. I don't have to like the fact Red Rocks is a terrible live video IMO because of the taped close ups. But I can say that, feel that and not offend anyone. Its my opinion.

But it seems others just are like Stevie SUCKS and want us to take it and not discuss it...if we do then we are just Stevie freaks.

I think the unspoken rule should be to think before posting. Allow yourself a bit of time to think...do I want to say this...before posting it.

I used to be VERY outspoken and rude and I loved starting fights...but then I realized it got me nowhere...I took a break from the Ledge, came back and started over. Its possible for anyone.

This is a personal plea, and a moderators plea just to think about what Johnny Stew said and maybe even what I said and what other "peacemakers" have said to try to get the fighting to stop. This isn't the only board, trust me, but lately its been the worst and I just want things to improve....thats my only motive and Im can state that was Johnny Stews. We want everyone to STAY but we want everyone to get along. We don't have to love each other....but if there are ill feelings, don't bring it on here.

I agree. And I would add that folks ought to reconsider starting frivolous threads considering the bandwith issues this site has had. I see some threads on The Ledge with nothing but inside jokes that really belong in private-message exchanges. It would be helpful to us all if such exchanges were left off the public boards.

Personally I kinda like it when the Ledge closes down due to bandwidth issues, it kinda weeds out those fair weather fans and those people who like to creep around the Net causing major disruptions on discussion Boards. Only the addicted Ledgies know that the Board comes back online in a few days, but in the meantime, the "trolls" hit the road thinking they have accomplished their goal of closing down the discussion board.

I'm not sure what all this was about, but I can't imagine posting on this board anything hateful about Stevie (or any member of Fleetwood Mac for that matter). She's a real gem. I'm glad I got into her music & Fleetwood Mac, courtesy of The Dance. Now a week never goes by with me listening to the Mac or Stevie's solo work or Lindsey's solo work.

every week!? that's what i'm talking bout! i do the same. i also am glad that i started listening to stevie! you're right she is a gem, well in my book the lady is a diamond! i love her and mac and i can't wait for both albums to come out!
