This is for Janet...
Janet, I am sorry that all of this has evolved from your post. I haven't seen the Divas show (my mom taped it for me, but can't find/thinks she probably taped over the tape ) - BUT I totally understand the feelings that prompted your post. Those feelings are resurrected in me everytime I get out The Dance video for something like the hundredth time, and find myself all teary-eyed sitting there watching all of the FM members interacting and performing so wonderfully. I sit there and sniff and tell myself I'm such a silly hormone-ridden woman and that people would think I was nuts if they could see my reaction to the band. I mean, I don't KNOW these people, right? They are just a band, right? But I love their music, it moves me, and through the years of feeling so familiar with all of them...well, to see/hear them displaying their talent and emotion and comradery with such zest...I am filled with emotion (irrational though it may be) - pride, love, longing. And I find myself thinking how lucky I am to be able to experience this, and how great it would be if everyone else could, too. I want to open my front door and sob/shout to the world, "I LOVE FLEETWOOD MAC! RUN, don't walk, to your nearest music store and get yourself the gift of Mac music!" ![]() In a way, it's like I feel about my kids...when they do things that make me all warm and fuzzy, or touch me to the point of making me cry, or just sit there being my beautiful children, I think to myself "what a shame that the rest of the world has to be denied the experience of my fabulous kids!" But even so, how FORTUNATE and BLESSED I am that *I* get to experience them!SO, Janet, I totally understand what prompted your post. That combination of love/heartache/pride/longing/happiness/blessedness that just makes you want to shout out to the world. But how great for you that you have a place where you can shout it out to people who understand and, for the most part, agree. NEVER hold yourself in check, Jan. Keep shouting it out, girl. Lori ![]() PS: Hope this was all semi-coherent, as for the last 2/3 of it, I had a 7-year-old girl who should be in bed talking in my ear while I was composing..."Mommy, gee you sure like Stevie, don't you, with that big picture of her on your computer, and boy, is my nose stuffy and runny and I need some medicine, and boy, was my vacation with Grandma fun, and gee, Mommy, you sure are writing a lot, and Mommy, do you think we can go to the zoo soon, and you know, I think I have to pee, and can we snuggle on the couch together for a little bit before I go back to bed, and MOMmy, don't you think maybe you're writing too much..." Yeah, what a SHAME that the whole world isn't getting to experience the beauty of this particular child of mine right now... ![]() And so back into lurkerdom I fade...and re-emerge into mommyhood... ![]()

So what you went to private school..so did i..i don't really see it as anything to brag about...i thought it sucked as a matter of fact..bunch of whiny @ss spoiled brats who couldn't do a damn thing for themselves..i couldn't wait to graduate into the REAL world that is for sure...so my point it,no one cares where you go to school,or what mumsy and daddy do...and you totally missed Louise's point...rock stars who have been around as long as Stevie has make alot more than eye doctors,or even regular doctors for that matter...not that it matters right...but the woman is filthy rich...it is a valid point.

Hello
Moderators are always keeping tabs on what is going on. Read the FAQ and you will see the Ledge standards and what we do to keep them up.

Just a guess, but I would hazard to guess that suggesting to insert a popsicle (flavor unknown) inside one's escape hatch is probably a violation of the Ledge TOS. But, that is a guess.
Speaking of which, did anyone here ever get their lips stuck to an extremely cold popsicle, and then tried to pull it out? Painful, isn't it? Ouch, I shudder just thinking about it. |

The thing that I have noticed since I have been on this message board is that some people just go from thread to thread looking for something to bash, words to analyze, or something to fight about. I learned this when I started the "Who's the Most Talented" Thread. I was trying to celebrate all of Fleetwood Mac's members and their varying talents. I was not trying to pit the members against each other. Many people were tactful with their thoughts, but several weren't. Soon, some people started acting like this. Some people missed the point that I made in the first place.
![]() Same here, I think that Janet's point at the beginning was a good one. Stevie does stir up a lot of emotions in people. She just hoped that everyone could feel an emotion that strong from music, maybe Stevie's music. Some people just understand where Stevie is coming from. They can relate on some or all levels. To say that she is untalented or uncreative or discuss her personal life/problems was not part of the thread. I don't even know how it got to that point. Janet made a positive, emotional statement. She just wanted people to know how she felt. She was not saying that you lack something if you don't like Stevie. I think that she would hope you got that emotion from someone's music. She just personally thinks that Stevie does it well. I happen to personally agree. Stevie has a way of bring forth emotions (This thread proves that.). I think that is part of her appeal, and part of what draws people to her. I think that a lot of what has been said here was to make people mad. It was to get people arguing. We just have to remember that. Also, it is good to be open minded and to hear all opinions, but those opinions should be expressed tactfully with other people's feelings in mind. Of course, this is just my humble opinion to be taken if wanted. ![]()
