Opening a bottle of wine, listening to Neko Case and getting the grill ready -- I'm making my boyfriend and I steaks for dinner. It's a beautiful night!

Going over the music my older brother gave me:

"Desert Island Survival Kit"-The Rolling Stones (An official promo only release by ABKCO Records)

"Interview Shaped CD"-Queen's Roger Taylor (Shaped like Roger's head)

"From A Window-Lost Songs of Lennon & McCartney"-Kate Pierson (Of the B-52's), Graham Parker & Bill Janovitz (Of Buffalo Tom) w/Robin Zander & Johnny Society

"Heavy Metal Thunder"-Saxon

"Realized Fantasies"-TNT

I also have 9 Megadeth discs to listen to that I purchased off of eBay.

I hate saying it, but I got a few good laughs watching this memorial as well. Seemed more like a celebration of life but it was rather bizarre.

I am listening to the Dreamgirls 2 CD deluxe edition soundtrack and cleaning my bedroom. Hot Saturday night over here!

It kind of reminded me of a jazz funeral on acid. I think he would have wanted it this way and not some solemn affair. They even changed his suit!

You're probably right. It was still really bizzare. I loved the gold casket though.

It's a beautiful album...I keep getting hooked on different songs and thats the only thing I want to listen to. Right now, its "THE NEEDLE HAS LANDED"...I cant get enough of that song. Last week it was "HOLD ON, HOLD ON", which I think is still my favorite on the entire CD.
But that line on "Needle" where she sings, 'baby, baby...." just KILLS me!!

Yeah, I heard her version of "Dreams" and totally loved it!!

Trying to muster the brainpower to finish this super long LJ entry. I don't know why I can't remember half of what happened before April.

I've heard that she might swing by the SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST MUSIC CONFERENCE in Austin this March. I already have paid for my badge.
So far, Pete Townsend is giving the keynote address, Emilylou Harris is also doing a seminar as well as a showcase (that will be AWESOME) and the Watson Twins were just added to the roster.
I cannot WAIT until March!!
