I directed her to this thread - as an example of how sad I find it that adults...aged 30 and up or whatever felt it necessary to make fun of a KID. The phrase "pick on someone your own size" comes to mind...

And yes, everyone Ethan IS who he says he is. A 16 year old high school student who loves Stevie Nicks.

For someone who recently told us all of his "compassion and love for humanity" and feels that people are "thoughtless jerks" this little thread is a real eye-opener. It's just sad to me....

Again - why not just use the ever-so-handy ignore feature if Ethan bugs you all so much?

Am I pandering to a 15-year-old? Probably - but guess what - This is a PUBLIC board with no age limit - Ethan has just as much right to be here as anyone...

I, myself have people on this board I do not care for - and yes, I'm guilty of getting into it with them from time to time...but never would I start a whole thread with the sole purpose of making fun of any of those people...

I don't go out of my way to post nasty things every single time any of these people post something. I use the ignore button - OR I simply ignore them without the feature..it's not all that difficult...most of the time...

Ethan is grown up enough to defend himself if he feels slighted. In a previous thread he asked the board to give their opinions on his lyrics and received some harsh criticism without falling apart.

Ethan can post anything that he wants. I don't recall ever telling him that he couldn't. However, if one chooses to post threads as ludicrous as "Which one do you like better: 'Sara' or 'Welcome to the Room... Sara'" without being prepared to be subjected to parody, then that's their own problem.

I'm sure I'm probably the last person you want to hear from on this matter, but, as a moderator, I have to point out that we do still have rules against taunting, deriding and mocking.
If you wanted to spoof the premise of Ethan's polls by posting some outlandish song comparisions of your own, that's one thing -- but, in all fairness, the content of your first post in this thread took it to a different level. Calling it a parody doesn't really change that.

We all stood up for Amber and Jason/JazmenFlowers when they were being mocked elsewhere, and rightly so.
I don't think there should be a double-standard for Ethan or others.

I know we're not supposed to bring up stuff from other boards, but looks like some people are having the same effect here as they have elsewhere in the past - to get everyone riled up & fighting with eachother. Whether or not that's the intention - great job!

This thread is silly, it's dumb, and it's funny. Nobody's telling anyone to leave, nobody's threatening them, nobody's personally attacking anyone with name calling. Everyone knows that Ethan starts a lot of threads comparing songs, so why not bust his balls about it a little? Nobody said squat when people started sarcastically imitating my "like or dislike" threads. Cuz really, who cares?

Personally, I don't give a sh*t what anyone here posts. I reply to a lot of stuff, both serious and sarcastic. It's just a message board people, not a human rights rally. Get over yourselves. If people want to come here & post longwinded rambling posts basically saying nothing & ask questions that could easily be answered by using the ever-so-handy search feature, then they need to deal with other posters, whether they're nice or not.
