Thumbs up My Boston Review

Well for starters I wasn't looking foward to the concert only beacuse of the death of my grandmother which made the trip seem unimportant in the grand scheme of things. The long 12 hour bus ride from Ottawa to Boston was like a trip down memory lane as I sat there by myself thinking about good times we had shared.

When I arrived in Boston I walked around trying to find the venue and I will admit it took forever to find it. My maps were terrible and when I finally found it I was surprised by it's location. I grabbed a bite to eat in the food court next door and then waited paitently outside. When I picked up my ticket I was able to hear the sound check coming through the doors.

The concert started late by about 15 minutes but even halfway into the show people were still ariving late. Lindsey was on fire the whole night starting with his first song right through to his last. I was enthralled by his impressive guitar playing. He did make some mistakes such as screwing up the verses in Red Rover. I found it annoying how many people kept yelling out requests. I don't mind people doing it but I thought after a while it was annoying as they were doing it when he was trying to play/say something and he seemed a little annoyed. I really wanted to hear him play Dont Look Down but I knew it was hopeless when he said something about requests coming with a disclaimer. He did however play my 2nd choice which was Down on Rodeo. The accoustic arrangement really suited the song. Overall a great concert.

I was bummed that he didn't sign any autographs that night. I was persistant as I waited in the alleyway and folloed the car on foot a short distance and waited outside the tourbus which I was told was the "crew bus". i had eve held a sign requesting him to play my songs and please sign my record but no go. Oh well. Maybe some other time.

Matt

So sorry about your grandmother. Those people yelling inappropriately were very likely pretty hammered. There are plenty of drunks in Boston! I'm surprised that Lindsey isn't signing anything, I hate that.
