Agreed - even though it is somewhat of a trainwreck vocally and in diction.

I also think GB from the Bella Donna tour video kicks some major a$$ But all four are way up there on my list!!!!

I agree, SOTM Mirage might just be my favorite live performance evah now that I think about it. I also love TWH Stand Back with the little girl Elaine and Silver Springs & GDW from The Dance. Edge of Seventeen and BATB from Red Rocks kicked some major ass as well.

Oh but that's the beauty of it dahling, you should know that! It's all about the energy and the art, screw the vocal trainwreck. It was obvious she was coming from an emotionally raw place but that's what makes it so brilliant.

When I think of Stevie Nicks in her prime this is the performance that comes to mind. You know what's strange, I didn't even realize her vocals were off until someone pointed it out (and they still don't seem so off to me). I am so captivated by her presence, beauty, and energy every time I watch this the quality of her vocals is last thing that comes to mind.

We are so much alike It's because we are so mesmerized by her performance we don't give a **** if her vocals are off. Have I told you recently what great taste you have?

And how come no one has mentioned Mick's beer pouring roadie? That's classic .

I think I could write an entire essay on why Sisters of the Moon from the Mirage dvd is my favourite performance ever. It just has everything, great music (that intro is goosebump inducing), great vocals (off? huh?), great stage antics and lots of emotion. Lindsey's solo piece is fabulous also. And really, only Stevie Nicks can pull off singing something I can't understand and me thinking it is the coolest thing ever.

You don't want to know how many times I have played this while either drunk or stoned out of my mind and thinking I actually was Stevie Nicks. It's always a highlight during parties at my apartment.

That made me laugh so hard. Mostly because my friend said the same thing: "Is she crying? What the hell's her problem?"

There is no question this SOTM performance is brilliant. The vocals, however, are very strained, esp. in the second verse. Look at her face when she sings them. She is struggling to get to them. That being said, the end of this is jaw droppingly raw. It is almost like she knew she somewhat flubbed the second verse and thought "okay - now I am gonna knock their socks off!"

Plus, we see panties, which I love.

On edit - this era marked a severe change in La Nicks' voice. She went from being able to go very high a la Sara, BC, Dreams, etc. - to an octave or so lower when singing live - though by thw WH tour, she somewhat got it back as eveidenced by the TV performances of Nightbird. Listen to Gypsy from this same video. Though that performace of it is one of my fav.'s because of the raw power in it - she is way low and her vibrato is way out of control and that is the first time we really see that as it was not evident on any tour before that.

I think her performace of Gypsy in this is perhaps more emotive. When she sings "BRIGHT EYES - SEE YOUR BRIGHTS EYES" -- my throat hurts watching her belt out that - same for the onstage huriling of recrimination in The Chain - and she is so stunningly beautiful in that hat for GYOW - SHEEBUS!!!!!!!!!

I'd add also Beautiful child live... and Silver Springs from The Dance.
