They should have let her front the band last week instead of Dilana.

Dunno how ticket prices will be elsewhere, but like I said - I'm not buying tix unless Dilana wins. If she doesn't, damned if I bother paying $50 to see them with anyone else at Shea's. The music certainly isn't that good.

"You would BE NOTHING without the House Band" is what Dilana said to Ryan.

"when a guy talks ****, he's got balls & ambition. When a chick does it, she's an evil bitch" Isn't this line from the early 90's? I personally don't think that applies mosttimes. I know plenty of men bitches, and women with balls and ambition.

I love how they made up after...

This show would be such a bore without these antics!

^ No, I believe she said "that performance would have been nothing without the house band." I could be wrong. So I guess she did critique a performance. Whatever. She's honest, and I like her. I honestly think that she means for her critiques to be advice to the younger less experienced, not to be mind games to make them feel small. I don't think they would be so offended if they were sure of themselves. I haven't heard her critique Storm or Magni or Patrice, unless I missed it. I have to assume it's cuz they've been around & know what they're doing on stage.

At least she (and Storm, especially) are up & moving & dancing & singing along with good performances, clapping & cheering & supporting the other contestants - which is more than I can say for Lukas.

I don't think the whole "strong women are bitches" was the early 90's - it's been said & assumed long before that. And I disagree that it doesn't apply anymore - there's still a double standard in the media, and in society.

I just don't think the statement is true...from my experiences...anymore. If a woman is agressive, I wouldn't consider her a bitch by my standards. I suppose I didn't/don't care for the attitude. Is it possible the others aren't insecure, but rather secure in that they haven't asked for her advice...she just gives it? If one could call that advice. I haven't seen her offer any recommendations for improvement.

I thought it would be a good time to provide this excerpt from Ryan's bio: "He was 14 years old when he formed his first band called Stage with his high school buddies. They swiftly found success. The rocking group of youths, with Ryan at lead, played the legendary CBGB's and Mercury Lounge with parents in tow (they were underage). But when the group began recording their second album, Ryan needed more. Spreading his wings and enriching his life, he decided to move in a different direction--to "take the leap and follow my heart." Good move. As the solo artist R.Star, Ryan is currently one of the top musicians in NYC and a newly emerging national phenomenon. He was recently a "Featured Artist" on MySpace, and Billboard magazine praised his critically acclaimed debut solo album "Songs from the Eye of an Elephant.""

If Dilana hasn't "critiqued" Storm or Magni or Patrice it is probably due in part that she doesn't feel threatened by them...IMO.

EDIT: Added Ryan BIO

I do not believe he is "right" for the band...but I rather like the varying eye shades and the cut of his eyebrow. I am not so sure anyone is right for this band.

I agree that some do this more often than others...but sometimes it appears more for "show" though...IMO.

Well, where I come from aggressive women are bitches and aggressive men are pricks, in general society and in the corporate world.

you're funny I wouldn't even call Dilana's antics agressive. IMO her behaviour was immature and unprofessional. Irregardless, in the end, she seemed to soak up what dave was trying to get accross to her so, as she said, "lesson learned."

I think Dilana trashed Ryan's performance. My issue is why does she get nailed for 10 minutes when no one batted an eye after Ryan told Dana she was an "embarrassment".

It's because Dilana is a woman.

Things might be a little better, but the double standard is still out there in politics, the corporate world, all parts of life.

As for performances this week, I actually thought Ryan was good. I just hate him. I also thought Toby's elimination performance (Stone Temple Pilots) was quite good, as was Magni's. I thought Dilana was a bit boring. I think the band is ridiculous. I'm starting to really like Dave Navarro.

I'm having trouble figuring out what is or isn't right for this band. It was much easier with INXS.

I agree. However, it was easier to see who fit in with INXS because JD was replacing a known entity and INXS had a catalog of hit songs. With Supernova there really isn't any way to judge who is right and who isn't, especially based on their first two songs.

As for Dilana, I agree there is a double standard. I wouldn't have made the comments she did but we also have no way of knowing by the way the show was edited if anyone else made any remarks. There were very few clips of the others during the interview process. The true test will be how Dilana handles herself from this point on. Supernova basically put her on the pedestal from the beginning and it may have been their own way of bringing her back down to earth. Cheap way to boost ratings.

I really like Dilana and I think that these shows, by way of editing, can make someone look really awful (or really good, depending on what they want us to see). Her comments were unprofessional, but as Dave Navarro wrote in his blog, ALL of them (he and the members of Supernova, especially Tommy Lee) have made stupid comments to the press. Other than her press statements, I think she has shown herself to be very caring and helpful to the other contestants.
