Ain't no shame in loving some hair metal, if it was good.

Good: Cinderella, Tesla, Bon Jovi, GnR (I know, not really hair, but whatev), Motley Crue

Bad: Trixter, Slaughter, Winger, Warrant, Bullet Boys. Actually, Poison has crossed over to this list for me too.

But yeah, everyone else was awe inspiring.

I saw Martha a few weeks back..on Letterman? I think? Anyway, she was brilliant!

Thanks.

And you know the creepiest thing of all ? I think they must be real.
I mean, lip injections are always wrong, and never attractive, but I think this was pre lip injection. But then again, when did Barbara Hershey blow up her yap for Beaches ?

"Rock On" - the original or the hideous Michael Dmain version. HATE it.
We are no longer friends. I adore both of those songs. And your like of metal in addition to this revelation isn't really a point in your favor, either.

Yep, turn it off or stream wbos.com. Love that station. Although they do play Blunt.

Yeah, I know. It's because you like metal. I think metal sucks. And, just musically, those two songs are way better than any metal. Metal is a pretty low form of music to me, necessary skill wise.

Eeeeewwwww! Where's the gagging emoticon when I need it?

Keifer is gross. No wonder he hid behind all that hair in the 80's (probably still does).

Barbara Hershey's lips are on notice, as are Meg Ryan's. Btw, what's happened to Meg Ryan? Every recent photo I've seen of her looks really bad for some reason

Rock On is just hideous. Hideous I say. Lyrics, music, vocal. Everything. It's dull, and I change the station every time it come on. I guess we're breaking up then.

You like House of the Rising Sun too, huh? I was reminded of my intense distaste for it the other night on Rockstar. Not just the crappy job that person did with it, the song in general. Too much organ, me thinks. Similar to "I Put a Spell On YOu" by CCR - probably my least fave CCR tune.

You may not like it (and that's perfectly fine, and believe me I understand) but "skill-wise" metal has some of the most undeniably critically acclaimed musical virtuosos on the planet. Go tell Brian J. that Randy Rhodes has low skill. Go on, I dare you!

Gotta be the most overblown, overproduced, sappy, and cloying number one song of all time. I'll never forget that story about a group of studio execs crying when they heard it - not because they were moved, but because they'd make so much money over the coming year.
That reminds me, every time I hear that song I think, "I want to know what love is, I want you to show me. I want to feel what love is, I want you to feel me." Just one of those things. But yeah, sappy, I did like it as a kid though.

"You're Having My Baby" was all over the am radio when I was a kid. It made me want to vomit then, and just thinking of it now makes my skin crawl.

"Sometimes When We Touch" is another song that makes me run screaming. Gag.

Oh, that's right, there are a few.
Sorry, it's not melodic enough for me to like it. I think it's ugly. I'm just not that angry, and I like pretty singing and pretty notes. If there isn't pretty singing or pretty notes, I like stuff with funky drums, good beats, you know. I don't like dark things. Or angry things.
And I think though there are some skilled musicians, you wouldn't necessarily have to be.
