Default Bob Welch's birthday

Today, I heard "Hypnotized" on KLOS in LA to commemorate Bob Welch's birthday. Happy Birthday, Bob -- it's one of those major birthdays!

Happy Major Birthday Mr. Welch... and thank you so much for availing yourself to your fans from time to time. But most of all thank you for the wonderful music! In my opinion, it's one of the greatests gifts a person could give.

Ok, so was it last year that Bob confessed that July 31st wasn't his REAL birthday and that August 31st WAS, or do I have those reversed?

Bob's real date of birth (according to Bob himself) is August 31 1945, not July 31st 1946 as it says elsewhere. But happy birthday in advance!

Yes, I remember now. It is Aug 31st. He said something about wanting to hide the real date, back when, to keep people from "reading him"(or something to that effect).

Well, I guess Uncle Joe Benson (the DJ) blew it then.

No...Bob himself has misled us for all these years. He just finally "came clean" about the discrepancy last year.

Thanks. I guess I don't understand why anyone would misinform about their birthdate -- the year, maybe; but the date?

One of the reasons in his explanation was that it was right around the same time as Bob Weston's...either the same day or within one or two days.

It was Bob's FAKE birthday. Years ago, he listed a fake birthday in his bio(something about not wanting people to "figure him out"- the zodiac and all that crap ). 7/31 was his fake one. I believe 8/31 is the real one.
