After I found the GQ piece, I took a look around your site and I was very impressed by the extensive amount of articles you have there. Good job!
It always surprises me how few articles and reviews are to be found on fansites for other artists. I think, aside from a complete discography and a lyrics section, an article archive is the most important thing to include in a website.

I just think it's unfair to think that Don is still the same person today that he was in the mid-70s. How many of us here are the same person we were 30 years ago? Is Stevie still the same person she was then? Give him a break. Times change....people change.
Plus, it should be noted that Stevie has quite obviously forgiven Don for letting it slip, and she has said on more than one occasion that he was extremely apologetic to her about it.
She still loves and adores him... he was even one of the first people she called (after her mother) when she needed a pep-talk to stay on the road after the events of 9/11... so I think that says it all.

The Don Henley article always bothered me and I did kinda believe it because Stevie said he had to apologize to her about 100 times before she forgave him for saying that in a magazine. However the song Sara, with Stevie saying it was like 20 minutes long then cut to 7 then 4 or 5, and with the lyrics so difficult to put together, it really is hard to say.

The song that makes me cry and think of a possible abortion is, Goodbye Baby. I know - I know - I know. But it does remind me of an abortion.

For whatever that was worth.

Patty

Henley’s prodigious romantic escapades would include an affair with Stevie Nicks, who “I believe to the best of my knowledge became pregnant by me. And she named the [unborn] kid Sara, and she had an abortion”-and then wrote the song of the same name “to the spirit of the aborted baby. I was building my house at the time, and there’s a line in the song that says ‘And when you build your house, call me.’
"I believe to the best of my knowledge..." WTF does that mean? Either she did or she didn't get pregnant by him. Was that his way of trying not to be a total asshole and blabing her very private life to the public? What a sweetheart *puke*

Oh, those are easy. The scandal that ensued at the wrap party I went to in Santa Monica a few weeks ago is proof of that. I may never live it down.
It was like an all you can eat Sparky buffet. And more girls than guys attending. I cannot be trusted.

I know that is pretty bad. It's like he's almost saying. "yeah it could have been mine or it could have been anybody's (wink wink)...know what I mean."

That's why I say that all is not as it seems. Even Stevie said that it's not the true story. I'd dig up the quote, but I am tired.

Fine. I dug it up so that no one can ever accuse me of not contributing anything...

He blew it on the fact that I had an abortion. He told a big magazine that, so it's like... Well, I guess I could write my story about me and Don now, because Don accidentally let the whole cat out of the bag to, like Vanity Fair or something. So, there are things that I could write about, but there are a lot of things that I couldn't. See, I would never have told that. I would never have told the world that. So, 92 phone calls from Don and 800 apologies later, but the fact is that that story is out now, but the story behind it isn't written. What really happened isn't written. So that is the story that everybody has to wait for. - Mary Turner, Off the Record, 1994
