All Gone - Page 2

Ok I've spent a really long time in front of the computer this evening, so I'm just going to post a lost of the types of things I had and would like to RE-have if at all possible.

Then, if anyone wants to share, it would be greatly appreciated:

Mp3's: Any great live recordings of Edge, GDW, Rhiannon, SOTM, BATB, Go Your Own Way, Gold and Braid, After the Glitter Fades

Videos: WWD/Belladonna, Mirage (okay, I didn't have this, but I figured since I'm asking), anything Wild Heart related, the dressing room thingie, Nightbird on Solid Gold, That one with Bob Welch- Caljam, I think?

So- obviously I'm not expecting anyone to post full videos- even a song or two would be nice. I can't even think anymore of what else I would like.

Let me just thank you all again in advance- I hope some newbies are watching this thread and will benefit from this as well.

That sucks. Are you willing to pay somebody to recover the data? When you delete files the computer doesn't actually erase them, it just allocates that space as able to be written over by new files. Some technicians will be able to run a program that will easily recover all the data.

That SUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not even that it can't be replaced, just the time and effort, and it was all catagorized I am sure.

So sorry to hear that. I lost a lot of stuff recently myself. Had no clue the importance of backing things like that up. I have a meager trade site. See anything you must have stat....name it!!!!

Wow, what a great way to wake up. I actually dreamt of this mess last night. Thank you SO SO much- I am downloading and about to drink my coffee while listening!

This really sucks Janet. So I guess you are not going to try to have a tech recover your data? This just happened to a friend of mine at work, well actually her whole computer crashed and she lost everything. She had backed up but not for a while. She got some kind of spyware thing from the net. She is quite computer savy so this scared me into spending money I don't really have on an external hard drive.

I got a Seagate 100 gig drive from Best Buy. It is awesome for peace of mind. My computer is a little older though, 5 years, so I had to upgrade my USB but it was very easy. It's a good thing I know something about computers though because the clerk tried to sell me the wrong thing. But it all worked out.

The good news is that Stevie/FM fans are quite generous and you will have your collection going strong again in no time.

Things are pretty tight for us right now so I'm not really in the position to call a tech. I'm optimistic though, I've already gotten a ton of great music. I will definitely spend the money on an external drive- wait, how much do they run?

While I'm here, does anyone have Kind of Woman?
