Emmylou and Mark Knopfler just played together here a few days ago. I'm sorry I missed it.

So, for anyone who's interested, I took the bird to the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center. I must sheepishly admit that, uh, there's good reason he's the size of a pigeon ... it's because he is one!!! Hey, I never said I was an ornithologist . They said he was super dehydrated and they'd have to give him pedialyte before trying to give him any seed, but I think they're optimistic. They gave me a number to call so I can check up on him, too.

That's good that you helped out that pigeon. Pigeons are generally reviled and people are so cruel to them. Last week there was one outside my work that was having seizures. My boss suspects someone had laid out some poisoned food, since there are quite a few pigeons around that shopping center. But that pigeon was lucky because my boss took it in, emptied its stomach and gave it some medicine to counteract the affects of the poison (I work at a veterinary office that treats birds and although my boss is an asshole sometimes, he's a true animal lover). Within an hour or so it was on its feet and doing well. We gave it a bit of food and water and then released it that evening. I just hope no more of them end up like that.

It's so sad that someone would do that, and I'm glad he's doing well. Most of the people I told my story to told me I was stupid for driving it to Cleveland (I'm an hour away) and that I should've just killed it. Assholes.

You should never apologize for having compassion.
