Default This is great going...everyone

BUT the way to treat this Red Rocks Hall Of Fame voting to get Stevie in is not so much based on Stevie's Red Rocks performance but her stature within in the music industry.........she is one of GREATEST ever....a real icon that deserves to be in the Red Rocks Hall Of Fame just like she is in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of fame.
Whilst none of us 'enjoy' seeing Stevie all messed up on the video...Stevie herself doesn't like this performance either yet it is inextricably linked with the collossal height of her success...and the lowest point in her personal life.......THIS IS PART OF THE HISTORY OF STEVIE NICKS......

The thing about Red Rocks is that Stevie DOESN'T seem too messed up to me, and maybe it's because I have seen worse, such as the US Festival 1983. She was smashed at this concert. Plus, I'm not too sensitive about things, especially drugs. I personally love Stevie getting into the music as much as she does on Red Rocks. The only part of Red Rocks I DON'T like is the Edge of 17 wail, which just sounds like she's going to goof into the microphone. I remember back when I really only knew The Dance, and then I'd watch Red Rocks, and I would hate the bouncy-energetic Stevie closeups, but then I got to like them. I CAN see how a personal affliction with drugs would sour this performance though, so yes, I understand Janet why you wouldn't like this performance. But, for me, it's up there in my favorites.

Exclamation Red Rocks

Stevie at her worst...Stevie at her best.

Time, drugs, and rock and roll had definitely taken its toll on the Bella Donna by then. Although she's still pretty(always will be) she lost her petiteness, svelteness, and witchywoman looks to a more ragged, rough, and strung out appearance. Her voice is for the most part average, but she still manages to pull out some good throaty Stevie vocals on songs like No Spoken Word, Stand Back, and Edge Of Seventeen(you know when she gets down and lets out that growl....love it). That's what I love about Stevie...the struggles in her life, the battles, the constant desire to survive. To me this concert is Stevie at one of the lowest points in her life, but still exposing her soul....getting out there and rocking. It's almost like you could see what was going on in her life by watching the concert.

Red Rocks is one excellent concert...if not for the music, then for the drama.

If I'm not mistaken I believe this video was nominated for a grammy for longform video.

Even though some parts do make me cringe (ah, yes, the Edge of Seventeen wail--as my friends so affectionately put it "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!!!!!! IS SHE POSSESSED BY GREMLINS!!???!!!!!"), Stevie definitely gets my vote!!!!! Even smacked out of her mind, she's the best!!!!!
