Are you SERIOUS?!? I just saw a commercial for that earlier today and thought, how come Stevie isn't ever on the VH1 Divas show. Great news!

This is odd cause there is no mention of Stevie on the Diva's page on VH1. They have only the following listed:

Cher
Celine Dion
Mary J. Blige
Shakira
The Dixie Chicks

Gee, I have mixed feelings about this.

Part of me is thrilled because Stevie is a diva, for sure.

The other part of me really, really can't see her fitting in with those other "performers"
like Cher and Celine and woo-hooing up there with them.
She is unique, and a diva all unto herself.

She's just in a class by herself.

I will wait for the official word, then just see what happens.

Hmm... ITA with those who say that they have mixed feelings about this. Stevie is so much classier than all those other performers. But it means that a lot of people are gonna get to see just how amazing she is, which is helpful considering the new album is out soon. As long as she doesn't duet with Cher or Celine Dion, I'll be happy.

Laura.

I'm not being skeptical and negative.

It's just that those shows are more than a little cheesy, and they do stuff that just isn't Stevie.

I mean, can you really see her walking around with her microphone and gesturing to the other divas, and being all smoozing and lounge-acty to the audience like Cher, Celine, or Mariah, or any of the folks who have been on that in the past?

I'm not saying it can't be done, or that it she might not be good on a show like this, because goodness knows I want more folks turned on to Stevie, BUT I'm just saying that her performance style is so much different. She would need to have special consideration and be handled differently on order for it to come off well.

After all, no one will come to appreciate her if they see her in a venue that is forced, or just isn't befitting her or is unnatural to her style. She won't come off well at all, then we'll have to hear about how much she sucks and is washed up, etc...etc...

If she is handled properly by them it could be really wonderful.
I'm just saying it could go either way with these VH1 folks....

They'll need to adapt to her, not the other way around!!

It's not really a question of whether or not she will kick @ss,cause she will...but you have to admit that the line-up is a bit...unique,lol...I mean good god..how many times have Cher and Celine been on the damn thing..how many times can you be crowned a Diva??? I think VH1 should shift their view a bit and do a show more rock n' roll focused...we've had enough of Mariah and Aretha and all of them....anyway...assuming Stevie is there,it will very cool to see how she is incorporated with everyone else...

just a thought, do you think maybe they extended the invitation to Stevie to be on Diva's in order to get Sheryl???

Stevie is the only true Diva in a strict definition sense from the Rock N Roll side of music...but I got a feeling that VH1 may using Stevie to get the more current popular sensation, Sheryl. I mean, Stevie should have been on the show years ago...

if I was a promoter, and have been following either Stevie's/Sheryl current career path, I'd definetely invite one to get the other...

Since you put it that way.......I can see where you are coming from and you are right. I have never watched one of Diva shows before so I guess I should of just kept my opinion to myself, but you made me look at the big picture and I see it as it is now. Thanks!
