Default the most beautiful song of all time
Since I started a worst song thread, how about the most beautiful?

Warm Ways, Silver Springs and Songbird from FM have to be there.

Beautiful sad would be Bonnie Raitt singing I Can't Make You Love Me.

Pachelbel's Canon In D and Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony are favorites as well. John Coltrane doing Favorite Things and Sarah Vaughn's Lullaby Of Birdland for jazz.

Is there ever enough beautiful music in the world?

I don't think I can pick a definitive most beautiful song, but here are a few candidates that spring to mind:

"Through the Walls" Bekka and Billy

"Overcome" Live

"Tears in Heaven" Eric Clapton

"Beautiful Child" Fleetwood Mac

"Please Stay" Warren Zevon

"With or Without You" U2

"Lovin' You" Walter Egan (Fundamental Roll outtake, never officially released as part of an album but available as a free download from walteregan.net)

"Never Tear Us Apart" INXS

and I'm sure there are a lot more but I can't think of them right now.

SO many beautiful songs:

What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong
Storms - gosh can't remember who that one's by
Something - the Beatles
Calico Skies and Beautiful Night - Macca

Ok - this list could get very long - I'll stop there

Yeah, love the sig... sigh. Shippers.

But anyway, yeah, just proves that I'm not a total Stevie-hater. Just, say, 90% or so.

I like this thread! I won't list any F.M./Stevie songs because they are a given.

Lilac Wine: Nina Simone

Trouble: Cat Stevens and/or Polyphonic Spree

Expecting to Fly: Neil Young

Long, Long Time: Linda Ronstadt

All I Left Behind: Emmylou Harris

Watercolor: Virgil Shaw

Ashes to Ashes: Faith No More
