Patrick Dempsey's New Movie - Sort Of

[Miss Vicky]

So I was watching Lady and the Tramp on t.v. today, and they showed a 'sneak peak' of a new straight-to-DVD animated Disney film, Brother Bear 2.

I loved the first Brother Bear. Not only did they cast my beloved Joaquin Phoenix as the voice if the main character Kenai, but it was also just a very cute and funny story. So now they've decided to do a sequel and have cast Patrick Dempsey as the new voice of Kenai. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I love Patrick Dempsey, but most of the time straight-to-dvd sequels = suck.

Interestingly though, they did pull in quite a few names for the project (though many are has-beens or B list) and Michael Clarke Duncan and Rick Moranis both reprise their original roles. New voices on the project include Mandy Moore, Kathy Najimy, Catherine O'Hara, and Wanda Sykes, with music by Melissa Etheridge.

The DVD will be released August 29th.
