It is amazing how Stevie rocks out The Telephone Song/All the Beautiful Worlds. You can actually hear a preview of the growl she would develop more fully later in life. Oh, this is like discovering ancient ruins in the pyramids! Fabulous!

However, WTF is up with those last two songs by Gary Hodge's band?? Ugh, my ears are bleeding. Sounds like Natalie Merchant with a pitch problem!
I haven't listened to those yet . . .

But this Sorcerer version is much higher quality than the other one!!

Okay, Don't Let Me Down Again is definitely the same one as before. I am going to check some of the others now.

NGBA is only like 45 seconds... Wonder if that's an error during the upload?

Is it a bit inaccurate to officially name Lindsey's instrumental as Never Going Back Again? Could it be that some one just put that tag on it for lack of anything else?

Granted, the "piece" has a vaguely similar structure to NGBA...but a distant cousin at best. At this early state the song doesn't have words or a title. The guitar line is identifable in the same style as NGBA....but it is significantly different. But it is undeniable that this piece was the genesis for NGBA.

Dammit, I was going to go online last night too. Stupid TV shows.

Oh well, I'll grab them tonight. I think I'm most excited about this Telephone Song of which you're all speaking. That, and finally the lone known live version of I Don't Wanna Know!

Yeah, true. But it's shorter than calling it Never Going Back Again Genesis or something. Obviously, this is common in Lindsey's career & Beethoven's career: kernels of musical ideas, twisted & turned in numerous directions throughout the course of many years, put on tape (or in a notebook, in Beethoven's case) & then later returned to--sometimes years later--until it finally "makes sense" to the composer, who finalizes the kernel.

I'm loving this live I Don't Want To Know!!

I'm so happy to hear Blue Letter. It is one of my very favorites, I love the harmony - and it's everything I dreamed of here. The tempo is fab, the hard guitar works, and the rougher, screamier vocals - In short, I don't love this version, I'm in love with it.
It's my wake up on the weekend and it's sunny and you sing and dance around your house song. And then you play it again because it was so fun the first time.
Thank you!

Edit - Same thing with IDWTK. It's rougher but much more beautiful as well. You can really, really hear how amazing Stevie's harmony is.

I love Telephone. It's strange and beautiful.

Great to finally have this second batch, but frozen love is the same as the first...or at least it sounds VERY similar!!! Races are Run cuts in on mine. Does everyone else have this problem? I only get about 2:13 or so of the track! I didn't have any problems with the others! Hmmm...

These are incredible. Absolutely great. Telephone Song? Ho****! Blue Letter too. And yes, I do love I Don't Wanna Know. It's finally official - every tune from Rumours has been done live.
