Spoke too soon.... They put her down tonight. She really took a turn for the worse last night. She couldn't even get in and out of the litter box, totally stopped eating/drinking and was very lethargic. The vet said she could feel a bunch of tumors in her belly, and she thought it's probably cancer. They didn't want to put her through surgery, since she was older, and she lost so much weight this week she weighed less than 10 lbs.
I wish I could be there for my friend. This is the weekend we were going to go visit her (I actually haven't seen her in several years, although we're in touch via email or phone several times a week), but I let my husband talk me out of going.
