Cronenberg is one of my favorites. Even his mediocre movies are heads & shoulders above almost everything else.

I'm so glad we're back to agreeing Yes! Cronenberg is one of the best! One movie that will f*ck you up though is Dead Ringers. Holy yikes Jeremy Irons totally disturbed me in that movie.

Speaking of, did anyone see North Country? I don't know a soul who did! I'm intrigued because I loooooove Frances McDormand and I'm really starting to like Charlize too.

Aren't you still scratching your head over those? I am. That's ****ed up, Daisy. King Kong was a piece of ****, but I thought Naomi Watts was spellbinding in it. She should've taken one of those slots, too.

Love that movie! Jeremy Irons is awesome in it. The Brood still terrifies me and Videodrome is just...the best. eXistenZ is one of his best, too, but I know you didn't like that one very much.

I saw North Country and thought it was good until the courtroom theatrics. Then I gagged on my own spit. Wait until you see Charlize on Arrested Development; she's actually kind of funny, even if her story arc is friggin' insane.

I love McDormand too. She's good in her role, but I wouldn't call it an extraordinary performance.

Can't wait to see it---A.D.

yeah, eXistenZ was too...erm, detached for me, even though I know that's signature Cronenberg, it just left me a bit cold. Oh, and that movie made me HATE Jude Law, god how I hated his character. But before you put my picture on your dartboard I'll have you know that Velvet Goldmine almost ruined Christian Bale for me. I hated him in that movie when I first saw it! I don't know why...I think it's because his character was kind of a spineless idiot or something. Perhaps I'm misremembering that though. When I saw Jude in The Talented Mr. Ripley my tongue was wagging on the floor.

Yeah, I'm thinking rental for this movie.

I was also thinking rental for The New World...my husband is totally against seeing that movie due to both of our disgust for Colin Ferrell but I have an obsession with seeing everything Christian Bale is in, bad or good. I know, it's a sickness.

I love Lili Taylor. Always thought she was cute. Clea DuVall is oddly beautiful, too. Which reminds me that HBO really, really needs to wrap up Carnivale somehow. Anyway...

Yup. Love Lilly Taylor. I don't know why she gets the "ugly" label in Hollywood, perhaps it's because she looks like a real person

I fell in love with her in the film Dogfight.

I endured her in The Haunting. Poor thing.

AND - I think, like La Ryder "playing" crazy in Girl Interrupted, it took no acting to play that shew

Sort of like Swoozie Kurtz "playing" a lush - bless her heart I just adore her. Interestingly, I think the Swooz has a very odd look to her, which I find compelling.
