Default Mick denied a spot on the Wild Heart tour

I have been looking everywhere for this quote where Stevie says that Mick wanted to be the drummer for her on the Wild Heart tour, and she says she had to tell him he couldn't go. I can't find it, but oh well. I am curious to know why he couldn't be the drummer. The person who did drum was a member of Billy Joel's band, named Liberty Devitto. I don't belive he had worked with her before, and he never went on any tours with her afterwards either. I can't imagine Stevie had any attachment to this Liberty guy.

Well, I think that her friend Mary Torrey did end up marrying Liberty. So maybe it was good for her. Don't know if they are still married, however.

I didn't know she told Mick he couldn't tour with her for The Wild Heart. I do know that she told him that for Enchanted.

ooh-how come? supposedly he was cleaned up by then, so why couldn't he tour with her? besides, of course, a desire to protect the fans of her solo work from the inevitable electronic drum solo

Yep, they're still married and live in Orlando. I have a friend that is acquainted with them professionally.

She said that at the Woodstock show when she introduced Land Richards. Personally, I doubt Mick was ever interested in doing a full blown tour with Stevie Nicks as a solo act. Especially since he wouldn't get his 35 minutes to preen unnaturally during "World Turning" at a Stevie Nicks solo show.

I don't remember reading or hearing about this. Maybe you can find it mentioned in one of the Stevie articles in 1983 from the Blue Letter Archives.

Mick played conga drums with Stevie's band at the California shows on the 1986 tour. I remember that.

Gold Dust Woman with Bob Welch, too. ( Does this sound familiar? --->

One of her best performances of it, i.m.o. (This used to be on nleone.com before - *sob* . . . . ) Anyway I believe that was also around 1986, or maybe a couple of years earlier. Definitely 80s, I think.
