Pattie, I thought you were gonna say...you were too old to care! Which was true of me, until I got nostalgic at 30 and dug up old clips of my fave shows as a kid!

Even the show with Alanis Morissette on Nickelodeon called "You Can't Do That On Television", which wasn't my favorite is hilarious for me to watch now! God, help me as I age...it all seems funnier somehow...I guess since I survived it all - well sane anyway.

Alanis gets slimed during the show during her video to "8 Easy Steps"

UH OH Pattie, I can hear Lindsey singing now..."I GO INSANE!"

I think Fergie is gross. Have you seen her lately, she's so mannish! Way too much work too. I shudder at any Fergie/BEP/Stevie comparisons.

This is not a reflection on you mentioning them, but to mention those pieces of dogs**T in the same breath as a great band like Fleetwood Mac is beyond insulting. WHat the hell was that hit they had where the woman talks about her tits and ass all the time and says how bad all the men want her. YYYYAAAAWWWWNNNN! Boy it takes alot of talent for that.

Now I used to like her as a kid...I truly did! I watched her on Kids Incorporated. I followed her career, along with Martika (Marta Marrero that is!) who is now in the band Oppera. In case you forgot about Kids, Inc. or you are too young to know what that show is about here's the opening sequence with Stacy and Martika:
omg that is GROSS

Pattie .... I think I am older than you and I remember Kids Incorporated! lol

I LOVED that show. It totally rocked. Strange how Fergie looks nothing like she did when she was a kid .... usually you can see SOME similarities. Martika is cool too ..... Toy Soldiers and all that .....

Sorry to hijack this thread and go on and on about Martika like I am about to do...BUT I have to say that she is GREAT! I saw her and her new duo Oppera (with her hubby Michael Mozart!) and they are FABULOUS together!

You are older then me? I don't think so but I don't know your birthdate so I can't say for sure. What year did this 'Kids Inc" take place in anyway?

I'm young enough to remember the show but I still fall into the "I don't give a damn" category.

With the exception of "My Hump" (which was, incidentally, written by one of the male members of BEP and NOT by Fergie) and "Let's Get Retarded," I like the Peas. I have their first album, Elephunk, and rather enjoy it.

And I still maintain that I see no similarities, in terms of musical style or dress, between The Black Eyed Peas and Fleetwood Mac. I also highly doubt that a group like that would list a - let's face it - dinosaur such as FM as one of their influences. Somehow I don't think that classic pop/rock had any effect on the sound of that group. Just my opinion.

Aired: 1984 - 1993
Show Type: Live Action
Country of Origin: US
Show Summary: Kids Incorporated (also known as Kids Inc.) was a children's television program that premiered in 1984 in syndication (On NBC from 1984-85) and on The Disney Channel 1986-96). Winner of various Young Artist Awards during its nine year run, it is remembered fondly by adults who were in their teens in the 1980s. The show's production companies included Hal Roach Studios (aka Qintex) and MGM (aka MGM-Pathe), both of whom had produced the popular Our Gang (Little Rascals) short films of the 1930s. This TV show launched the career of Thomas W. Lynch, who would go on to produce "The Secret Life of Alex Mack" and "Romeo!" among others.

The show consisted of a group of young teens (that occasionally shifted every few years as members grew too old to be "Kids" and were replaced) who performed cleaned up versions of pop music standards of the era, with most of the Kids noticeably pretending to play their own instruments (they did sing, though). Along the way, lessons were learned through the conflicts of the kids (e.g. the value of honesty, or why not to cheat on a test.)

Some very notable people that were on Kids Incorporated was Fergie from Black Eyed Peas also known as Stacy Ferguson, Eric Balfour (Six Feet Under; Sex, Lies, and Secrets), Jennifer Love Hewitt (Ghost Whisperer) and many more. A very good resource for mp3's, video, and tons of pictures is http://www.kidsincorporated.us

I was just old enough to catch the re-runs on the Disney Channel and was in love with Kids, Inc. Of course, I wanted to be Stacey (Fergie's real name). I was in love with those kids and when Stacey and the other girl, can't remember her name, who played her sister came out with a girl group, Wild Orchid, I was all over that too. They were bad, but a good bad...Talk To Me and Supernatural were their biggest songs. Believe it or not, Fergie/Stacey has a powerhouse voice. I am not crazy about her anymore, but I ain't hatin' either.
