Default Stevie's Brisbane show in this week's Billboard Magazine

Stevie's Brisbane show (2/20) was the #24 grossing concert (out of 35) in this week's Billboard. The billing is Stevie Nicks, John Farnham, Vanessa Carlton and total gross sales were $651,280. The attendance was 5,873 out of 6,570 capacity. I love seeing my girl's name in there (unfortunately right behind #23, The Backstreet Boys .)

Well this will solve her ongoing and severe CASH-flow problems! ( )

Uhmm, I wonder what kinda "cut" Stevie might get outta $651,000? After being split between them, does $20,000 sound about right???

I'm pretty sure that Tour Promoters guarantees an artist(s) a certain amount for the whole trek or tour, and anything over and above the break-even point the artist(s) might share a percentage of that with the promoter - plus there's concession sales as well that the artist is entitled to.

So if each individual show made money after expenses, that's great, but if certain shows were at a loss it wouldn't matter, the artist has that guarantee in the contract from the promoter. Like I believe with FM on the last tour, some of the guarantees I think I remember reading were in the area of $800k per show.

But I'm sure all contracts are different.

That works out to about $111 per person attending. Does that make sense..over $100 for all seats. I could see that for the firs 10 rows or so, but all the tix

I cannot understand people walking out of concerts. Apart from it being rude and disrespectful and all the rest ... you paid for the ticket. For God's sake. Stick around and beat some craic out of it.

It really is. I however like to think of it like this:

Random concertgoer1: I want to leave ... d'you think Stevie'll notice?
Random concertgoer2: I don't think so. We are in the back row after all.
Stevie: *interrupting song* Hey! You two back there! Yes, you know who you are ....

So much as think about it and so help me God I'm getting Lindsey to do Not That Funny! The _long_ version!

If I was at a show where Stevie went on before Farnham I most likely would have left after her set so I can't be mad at the Farnham fans for leaving if they were there just to see him. Same goes for anybody else going after Stevie who I'm not a fan of. I don't think it's rude to leave. Why should anyone have to sit through someone's music they don't like or are unfamiliar with?

Now how someone could not be a fan of Stevie is a whole different topic .

Yup... thats what we did We watched his WHOLE set in Brisbane and couldn't bring ourselves to do it again in Adelaide

But how can anyone walk out during Stevie?? They could at least have the decency to leave before she comes on stage ((during the break between John and her)) Not whilst shes in the middle of a song.

*humph*

god i love that pic!
it's not even the back row people
i think they'd be more inclined to stay
i mean they DEALT with **** seats

but people leaving during the first 5 rows............GRRRRRRRR

i know you shouldn't have to stay to see someone you don't necessarily like or are familiar with their work

but it's STEVIE

and that touches a nerve
