But they are POOR! And probably came from poor families. So they don't have the expectations from life that *we* do. They should be able to make it just fine if both spouses work at minimum wage.

Besides, how else can we continue our own standard of living if we have to pay a reasonable salary AND benefits????

Well that's a simpler way of putting it. I do believe this is also true, they think they're right and serving the public by showing them what is "right".

Have you heard about the **** Romney wants to pull with health care? I think I passed out upon first hearing of it.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/...-SearchStories

Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has come up with an innovative proposal to combat that: he wants to require every citizen in the state to buy health insurance.

"What the government is saying is, 'no more can you turn and put your cost of health insurance and health care on everybody else.' You have a personal responsibility to either pay for your own health care yourself, or buy an insurance policy, but no more just showing up at the hospital and saying, 'I can't pay, make someone else pay for me,'" Gov. Romney says.

Romney says forcing people to have insurance is fair.

"In my state, you can't drive a car on our roads unless you have automobile insurance, because we don't want people getting in accidents and expecting someone else to pay for their car and for their health," he says. "Same way with our citizens that don't have health insurance."

I'm actually glad he's saying this because it will guarantee that we'll never have another Republican elected to the position of governor. Never again. People hate him with a passion already and this is just adding fuel to the flames.

Anyone who has voted republican for at least the last 25 years is quite frankly evil and soulless. The republicans have always been in favor of the wealthy, while screwing over the poor. And then they think they can make it all better by writing a check to some religious charity and suddenly that solves all of our society's ills. It's always about blaming the poor for their condition regardless of circumstances and then applying that blame to every member of that social group. They'll never understand that every aspect of society is benefitted by helping those of us who are suffering the most.

It's such a great idea to cut 10-20 billion from Medicaid all the while spending 200 billion on ****ing Iraq.

Heartless bastards the lot of them. And any Log Cabin republicans out there should be ashamed of themselves...

How you can possibly think that anything related to this thread would be humorous is quite telling. You better pray to your god that you never end up in a situation where you need the benefits of a social safety net. Not that your prayers would do anything.

Wow. I totally didn't laugh at that. Big surprise.

Maybe you wouldn't find all of this so amusing if you were poor and actually suffered from the effects of such things.

I was just joking, well kinda. I really do want a shirt..."I'm an evil soulless GOP fag..." or something along those lines.

No reason to get upset. Seriously.

I know you're not religious and I'm not trying to offend you, just trying to show their hypocrisy.

You've always been so sweet to me and I really appreciate it, but honey, you know you have a history...
