Who wouldn't? I think it's kind of weird that I should like Chris, actually, seeing as I'm also not a fan of love songs. But with that voice, who cares? I'd listen to her read out of a phonebook.

I think that exact quote was that old people have no place on a rock and roll stage. In her book there is a picture of her in 1992 with a caption that reads 'a middle aged person on a rock and rock and roll stage".I'm somewhat inclined to agree with her .I think they would have to pay me $2,ooo to sit in the first 5 rows at a Rolling Stones concert these days.

I didn't see Grace perform in her prime, either, so I'm not sure I can judge. But I did see Mr. Bruce Springsteen play the Los Angeles Sports Arena on the River Tour in 1980 or so, & that performance remains in my mind the greatest rock performance of my time.

Default artist

Grace Slick is now an accomplished artist and has a gallery of her work in Sausolito, CA (oddly, the very town where Rumours was recorded)

Yes, Grace Slick's art is wonderful. She did a portrait of Janis Joplin that is amazing. I had the weird pleasure of meeting Grace on BART no less! Too funny.

She has a great voice but seeing some of her video footage and audio, especially after the heyday was not great. She was boozed so bad she couldn't even sing.

Sounds exactly like someone else we know.

How about those two concerts in Germany in '78? "We won the fukcing war!" Her boozing was so bad and she went off so badly on them that she quit the band for a year.

And that's awesome that you met her. Did she have her long white hair yet?

Haha. Touché. Although I have never seen Stevie as bad as that...although it might exist.

It was cool to meet her. Her hair was colored and longish. This was about 6 years ago (if I remember right). She's a sweetie. I thought it was cool that she was on the crowded train...it wasn't BART actually but the SF Muni train. I couldn't believe it. She and I were shoved against each other and I wasn't 100% sure it was her...but I was pretty sure so I whispered in her ear "does white rabbit mean anything to you?" I wanted to keep it low key and she loved that I did that.

Man, I would've have died. Cool beans. What I wouldn't give for her to come out of retirement for a night.
