Count me in! Maybe we should start another thread of a head count of how many people actually have the money to do this to see if we get 150 people who can afford to hire her. Lets not forget the additional overhead charges: ~the expense of the venue (hall, lodge, whatever) ~the sound equiptment (it is not like the band hauls their own PA system around to these corporate gigs...they are not a garage band or 21 year olds with a van....LOL) all they show up with is their instruments and mics. ~ the guy or gal who runs the sound board ~ the crew to set up and strike the stage ~ Lighting ~ the guy or gal who runs the lights ~the security ~beverage service for the fans (unless we do a BYO) ~food and beverage for the band ~ we would have to hire an event organizer to process $1500.00 payments, it is not like 150 people are going to turn over their money to one fan who is organizing this~ that is a liabilty~ it does not matter who is the "most trustworthy fan"~ it is still a liabilty for that person who is receiving the funds~ and being that there is no one here naive enough to take on that liabilty (although they say there is a sucker born every day...lol) we would have to hire an event organizer.... So at this point we are looking at close to $1800 per person at the very least...based on 150 people.... Are there any other expenses I might have missed? (Thank god we would not be responsible for her transportation or hotel expenses -- that is figured into the $150,000) ....

I'd love to be in...but I couldn't be in for about another year while I save up for it and I think it would take me about that long, problem is that along with $1500 there is also about that amount again in airfares atleast, etc from Australia plus accommodation but if it gets off the ground...hell I'll get a fund going for myself and start saving now.

I would definately cough up the dough if it was just us--I would'nt want any free loaders showing up and getting in to our small show for free, after we pay about 2K each.

hmmmmmmmmmmm so you'd all be looking at (to be safe) around 2000$ that way, any extra could just be divided up amonst every1 and returned
if this was towards the end of the year, or early next year COUNT ME IN!! I'm in Oz too. So I need 2000$ which is like 2500$ after the exchange + another 2000$ for a flight to LA and accomo. But i'm all for signing my life away and living at home for ANOTHER year for La Nicks ![]()

I don't think I'd be willing to shell out 1800 ducats just to see the same old show that I saw last summer for just around $100.If she was willing to take audience requests for her own songs that she has performed live at least at some point in her career ie. SOTM, Blue Lamp.Sleeping Angel etc. then I think it might be worth it .I think it would be too much to expect her to perform something that has never been worked out live like Battle of The Dragon although I would love to see it done.Someone like Tori Amos does this all the time albeit with mostly just her voice and piano .I just don't see this happening with La Nicks though. Not unless we were willing to cross her palm with way more dinero than the standard $150,000.

I'd think our chances of this happening would be better if it's before FM goes back on the road?
And while I'd also love for Stevie to play requests (or anything different than the typical setlist), I think reality dictates that won't happen. Even if she were slightly open to the idea, it would require too much rehearsal time. I am willing to pay $2K for an intimate private show of no more than 150-200 people, knowing it will be the boring setlist. I think when an actual head count begins, that should probably be the criteria (those who will pay regardless of setlist expectatons, and knowing they will likely not meet her, get her autograph, etc.) |

Well I wonder if we could maybe get her to do maybe just one or two songs out of the ordinary that we would request in advance or something? I think it would have to be something she would feel comfortable performing at this point in time, like maybe Trouble in Shangri-la or something from SYW? Something she has released recently that her voice can still handle for sure but everyone wants to hear. But I agree, I wouldn't mind her playing her regular setlist one bit with that small of a show. |

If you think about the Bar Mitzvah show out of the 500 people who attended that party most of them were not standing there in front of the stage listening to the show ~ there was a crowd of about 50 people (mostly teenagers) stage front- the rest were mingling, eating, sitting at tables conversing...etc...most did not care about the entertainment. Most corporate/private gigs are like that. But to do a show with 300-400 fans it is no longer intimate....like I said before, might as well just go to a concert and fork out the bucks to sit front row.
