I'd rather have the concert.

As for charity, it couldn't possibly be more disorganized than the AHI benefit I went to, but I'm hearing you. She does it for the cash.

I'm doubtful we are going to find 150 people who will pay $1000, however.

I think Suze is serious about trying, though I doubt the 150 people myself. But who knows ? Stranger things have happened. And I could organize this damned thing with a hand tied behind my back. It isn't THAT hard.

It would be interesting to find out if there is a precedant of a performer that is available for corporate events or private parties being hired by a large group of fans.I have never heard of that specific occurance and kind of wonder how amenable she would be to it.

Um... how about May 13... at the Knitting Factory in NYC? I suspect this is the Night of a Thousand Stevies Even in my most coked out dreams I could never conjure up the vision of Stevie doing karaoke to her own songs backed up by drag queens dressed as Stevie! It's perfect! There's no need for a band or a PA system either.

I would definitely pay $1000 to see that. Even more if the proceeds went to a worthy charity.

Yes, and May 13 is my birthday. Plus I'm originally from NY so I would have a free place to stay. I'm in- let's roll with this. I would absolutely pay $1500. F*ck it, you only live once.

Unfortunately, my club contacts are only in LA, so I would be out of the planning on that one.

Maybe we shouldn't tell her it's a large group of fans; just a birthday party or something.

To those who are serious about this, I'm definitely in. Would gladly help with organizing, assessing true interest, etc.

I really and truly think that finding 150 people is doable. Really. I think whomever said it would be "disorganized" has underestimated us. I attended that willy nilly '98 AHI gig so I'm no stranger to the frustration that such an event can cause.

One thing I think would be important is extra security. But they have to be trained to not f*ck with Stevie's people. Hehe. We also have to make sure that we have tickets that cannot be duplicated. I haven't heard back from the event company yet. They may just ignore me. That's okay though because I will try again at some point in the near future!

Last night I was thinking a "Storytellers" format would be awesome. The intention is for this event to be very structured. I think that one on one time with Stevie might be too much to ask. Although, maybe we could get her to do the photo thing. I know that's just a quick thing but you at least get a hug and a few words. Man, that would be more than enough for me!

Well, Stewey has volunteered for it to be his b-day party!

I wonder how she will react with every person in the audience singing every single word with her?

This thread is hilarious!

I vote for the hire-her-for-90-minutes-of-meet-and-greet plan. Let's see... 150 of us... over 90 minutes.... that's about 40 seconds each with her? (Did I do the math right? Quite possible I didn't)

I'm in!! I wonder if any group of fans has ever tried this?
