What the heck. I'm picking what I thnk might sound best in a sound-stage environment. Here's goes:

Friend
Forgiveness
Anything is Possible
Calumny
Oh Daddy
Over My Head
Spare Me a Little
One in a Million
You Make Lovin' Fun
Isn't It Midnight
Smile I Live For

Encores:
Say You Love Me
Why

Truth is, she could stand up there and recite names from the Kent yellow pages and I wouldn't mind!

But we ARE talking about Christine here. She's the most likely to play it safe of anybody in Fleetwood Mac.

Uh, David, I thought the premise was a Christine solo set, and thus should have her solo band (which admittedly would still include Billy Burnette). THAT'S a bastardized version of Fleetwood Mac. Albeit, a very GOOD bastardized version of Fleetwood Mac. Still, as a solo artist, Steve and George are her rhythm section.

I don't care what her inclination is. I just want to hear the songs I listed.

I don't want to hear Steve & George do a Chris solo show. I've already heard Steve & George do a Chris solo show. Now I want to hear Mick & John do a Chris solo show.

No, of course not. It's a Fleetwood Mac show if it's billed as a Fleetwood Mac show. It isn't automatically "Fleetwood Mac" just because Mick & John happen to be playing, whether live or on record.

It wasn't a Fleetwood Mac show May 8, 1983, on the UCLA track field when Mick, Christine, Stevie, John, Billy & Steve Ross played a set (of Fleetwood Mac songs). It wasn't billed as such so it wasn't Fleetwood Mac. Nor was it Fleetwood Mac when Mick, John, Christine, Stevie, Robby Patton & David Adelstein played "Gold Dust Woman" & "Hypnotized" at the Roxy on November 19, 1981. It was a Bob Welch show.

"Fleetwood Mac" is a billing designation.

Happy New Year, you ol' sociologist, you.

I wasn't suggesting it was Fleetwood Mac because Mick and John were in the band, but because Mick, John, Christine and two major Fleetwood Mac guitarists/singers/songwriters were on it. It's the "Heroes" band with Billy!

The obvious difference being that Steve Ross, Robby Patton, and David Adelstein were never members of Fleetwood Mac, and Billy hadn't been in Fleetwood Mac yet. It doesn't matter how a show is billed or who a song is credited to. There are times when it's obviously Fleetwood Mac. I consider "Can't Help Falling In Love" and "Roll With Me Henry" to be Fleetwood Mac songs. I considered that Super Bowl pre-game show to be Fleetwood Mac, though I don't believe it was billed as such (and they showed a lot of Fleetwood Mac pics from Mick's picture book during their performance). And, I'd say that "Hypnotized" from Roxy IS Fleetwood Mac: It has Mick, John, Christine, and Welch. As I seem to recall those four made an album together as Fleetwood Mac. If John had been on GDW, I think that could have been argued to be Fleetwood Mac. I certainly don't see any theoretical difference between that and, say, the "Kiln House" tour after Peter Green came back.

It's a band, largely built around Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, and, for the most part, Christine McVie. They were the core of the band for 27 years. Bob was one of their main guitarists for five albums in four years, Billy two albums, a concert video, and a few songs for compilations in eight. Whenever you have Mick, John, Christine, and Bob together, you have one of the actual incarnations of Fleetwood Mac. And, although it was just a one-off for the box set, Mick, John, Christine, and Billy recorded a song together (complete with video no less) as Fleetwood Mac. And, adding other musicians to the mix wouldn't change that. They would be no different than say Brett Tuggle or Carlos Rios were to the SYW tour, or Bobby Hunt/Doug Graves were to the "Heroes" tour.

Happy New Year, you ol' philospher king!

Yes, they WERE billed as Fleetwood Mac.

Being that these days Steve Ferrone is busy being a member of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and George Hawkins is touring with John Fogerty, she'll need a new rhythm section...so, since Mick & John aren't busy at the moment...I think that'd be a good choice.

And, remember, before The Dance, Lindsey's rhythm section was the aformentioned Msrs Fleetwood & McVie yet the album would've been billed to Lindsey Buckingham only.

Well, that's why I said "I believe." I thought I remember reading that it was actually billed differently, but I went through Rick Vito's Q&A, and indeed it was Fleetwood Mac. I thought they changed their billing once Stevie skipped out.

I didn't say it wouldn't be a good choice. Let's just call it what it is, though. Anyway, isn't Billy also busy touring with Fogerty? If HE could take time out of touring, why couldn't George? And, wasn't Ferrone working with Petty when ITM was being recorded? I mean, we are just talking about a one-off here.

See, I'm of the ilk that things happen for a reason. I've already posted my theory as to what happened between "Time" and "The Dance," and I think there was something very calculated going on as far as Lindsey is concerned. I think he was betting on a Mac reunion the minute he got back together with Mick. I've never bought that it was a gradual thing, otherwise, the album would have been released around 1998 or 1999.

In any event, this only strengthens what I've been saying. There has never been a Fleetwood Mac album released with just Mick, John, and Lindsey. "Heroes Are Hard To Find" WAS Mick, John, Christine, and Bob. That was an actual incarnation of Fleetwood Mac, and really, I wouldn't see the difference in having Billy added to that quartet as I would Doug Graves or Bobby Hunt. Saying Christine performed a solo show in which she was backed by Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, and Bob Welch is about as silly as saying Mick Jagger performed a solo show in which he was backed by Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, and Ron Wood!
