All we get here is Wham's Last Christmas and Rea's Driving Home for Christmas. It's torture.

The version you heard is from the first "A Very Special Christmas" CD. It's at Target, I just bought it after having it on cassette for years.

There are 2 versions - the one from the first Very Special Xmas album, and the 5th one. The second version is live, w/ the Heartbreakers playing on it, I believe. It was also a special on TV. That's the one I call the "Dylan" version. Sounds like she's channelling Bob on the "Well it WAS a...." part.

Plus she sang it live in 1988 on some sort of Christmas show, with Robbie Nevil. She told the story of her dad explaining to Stevie why Santa wasn't bringing her gift.

You mean the story about her walking downstairs and catching her dad putting together a baby buggy? And her dad telling her that Santa was very busy and asked for his help, or something like that.

I've been thinking about them, must be hard this year, without Jess.

The 1987 'A Very Special Christmas' version and a live performance from 2000 has been up for download on my site for a few weeks now...here's the URL:

http://crystalvisionsdesigns.com/audio.html

Enjoy, if you haven't been able to find it yet!
