well I finally have joined this century and got myself a I Pod, the new one with the video and photo capabilities..I was wondering if its possible to put some of the video clips I have on my computer onto it..you know some of the Stevie clips that I have gotten from here?
Remember I am not real computer smart..but I have managed to load my pictures and songs ..whoo hoo..
is there a way to import stuff onto the I pods ..like from Limewire and from my own collection??

I don't have the one for video but I do have the one with photos. It should be really similar to loading pictures. It gives you the option to browse - go to the location of the video and select it. Or try dragging into the video menu on the far left side of the iTunes screen.

No its lame with the new one they either have to be quicktime file videos or videos downloaded off of the itunes store...all of which are totally lame.

Maybe you should check out ipodlounge.com? Their message boards have threads/FAQs about pretty much anything and everything.

I have an IPod Shuffle. It is nice, but doesn't hold as many songs as a regular IPod. It does what I need it to do---provide me with music while I workout.

Yes, I have the new one, too, 30 GB with photo & video. I really like it; I bought it for myself for Christmas. I've downloaded two videos to it from iTunes & little by little I'm importing some of my CDs to it (97 songs so far). And of course I've got the Mac & Stevie on there. I have photos on it, too, though I'm not sure how many I can put on it. (I can put up to 7,500 songs on it, I do know that.) I got two accessories for it, FM transmitter for the car & portable speakers for everywhere else. As for video clips, I know there is a way to do it, though I haven't figured it out yet & I'm sort of afraid to try it right now. Apple's website has a support section. If you look at the message board for the 5th Generation iPod, you can probably do a search & find something. I've had some good help from there at times.

Good luck with your iPod.

All you have to do is take the clips and make sure they are in MPEG form. If they are not in MPEG form you can convert them to that format using free software by searching google. Dump the video clips into the "video" section in itunes and it should load the video clips onto your conected iPod automatically. Does that make any sense?

i find ipods to be ridiculously expensive, so i still stick with my (cool enough) minidisc. a decent ipod costs the same as a short vacation to europe or a brand new PC, so i find it highly presumptuous to expect me to want one badly enough to pay this sum.

I'm waiting for them to come down in price myself. Part of why they are so expensive, a big part, is the advertising. Its everywhere. Some days every street billboard, the ones you walk by, on my way to work have iPod ads! Plus they're on TV, they've hired U2, etc, etc. I have an MP3 player that fits about 5 discs worth of music which is pretty good and I'll have to "settle" for that for now.

I did get myself a PalmPilot finally this Christmas which I got through Amazon for $85, it holds pictures too. Its not state of the art but its not antiquated either, just how I like it. I don't want to be on the cutting edge paying inflated prices because I frankly can't afford it. But for those who can, well good for you and enjoy it! I think the concept of them is awesome and have been waiting for this technology for a long time. I just don't want to pay!

well i guess they are bit pricey..although don;t think i could buy a short vacation or a new pc for the amount of cost..but hey i got mine free..i had some extra airmiles that had to be used up (not enough for a ticket sigh) so indulged my self to a pre xmas present..
