I think Ghost means that one of the party going princesses who may have been born with a silver spoon up her nose may have an epiphany while watching La Nicks perform her cautionary tale of frozens noses and holes in septums and remove the spoon before it's too late.

Of course she did. The check she received was simply a perk. The deposition of it in her bank account was nothing compared to the transfigurations that occurred amongst those 13 year old cokeheads after hearing her sing "Gold Dust Woman," darling. She did it for the kids.

Dolly Parton uses a teleprompter and I've been to REM and Lucinda Williams concerts where they had the lyrics right there on a music stand. It seems quite understandable that an artist would want to have them up there just in case. There are so many times that I forget a simple word when I'm just talking with a friend.

I'm guessing the thing about GDW saving lives is a joke? The song didn't even help Stevie herself.

thanks...maybe prompts have become standard tech at shows?
show up with your songs or dont play?

if there was additional evidence of the prompts we may know for sure. perhaps the shots would show different set-ups? if a prompt is sized differently or on a variety of stands, etc we'd know prompts were furnished by the venue not carried to each show by the crew.

Well, I know that I saw Stevie's prompter at every show in 2004 and 2005 of hers and FM's I saw. So I think it's part of her "stuff." It looks like one of the speakers on the stage at her feet. Unless you see it from the front, you would just take it to be another speaker. But I was leaning on it at one show (me and another girl) and we accidentally moved it and turned it towards us a bit. (We turned it back for her! ) Other times, I've just been able to see it because of my angle to the stage. Honestly, I think she has it as a standby - I hardly ever saw her look at it. She did a couple of times - but she does it very subtly.

No she did it to make MONEY and I never denied that.
I'm just sayin' "W t f." Maybe she had a "positive influence."
Welcome to the concept of capitalism, what can I say.
It was an "appropriate song" to do.

From Steve Martin, 1983:

"OHHHHH, so it's a PROFIT thing!!"

No ! No ! No! I refuse to accept that she did it for the money. She did it to save all those poor little girls on Long Island from snorting up all that Gold Dust and to save them from having to get even more corrective rhinoplasty. It was pure selfless altruism I tell you.
