I wish they would just drop him already so he in fact COULD go the internet/independent route, if he wanted to.
You assume that he'd try to release a solo album through Warners again.

I don't think we'll get another album from him, no way. But I think he's wise enough to know now that Warners doesn't want anything to do with his solo music. And if he doesn't know that now, he's a bigger idiot than I took him for.

If Lindsey is lost in the trancelike process of sonic painting -- with his figurative canvas stretched out in front of him -- how would even he know how long it's all going to take? He paints & paints & paints, & then doubles back & paints something else, losing track of time, distance & memory. So how does he know it will take him till the end of the year? That's like saying you plan on having your ulcer until the end of the year.
I don't give Buckingham breaks or time. I don't "wait" for his releases, & I don't influence his schedule. I just post to the Ledge & occasionally troll the ledgies!

Well, let's see...he's a musician with a recording studio IN HIS HOUSE. He's probably "working on" SOMETHING on a daily basis...so to SPIN IT that he's "working on a new album" is just symantics and giving fans false hope.

No matter where Lindsey moves, he will have his recording equipment installed. Aside from his family, that's his life.

Surely, you don't think he LEFT THE RECORDING STUDIO THERE, do you? He'd move the recording studio in the same way he'd move his furniture.

I can't imagine a scenario where he would leave a quarter of a million bucks (or more) worth of recording equipment at his old house. I would assume that before he bought a new house, one of the mandatory specs would be that it would have a room, a garage or a "guest house" that could be renovated & made into a recording studio.

In fact, THAT could be the hold up on his new album...he hasn't got his home studio rebuilt in the new digs yet.

Hmm, you might be onto something there.

Yeah, I mean do you think that he would have moved the studio that fast? This is Lindsey that we are talking about. I thought that he had a portable studio that he can take with him wherever he is anyway.

Maybe he/she is just a believer and I'm too many times. I understand your point but we can't be sure this time Mr. Buckingham wouldn't find the strength to finish that album, acutally I think he will.

Exactly. That's why I'M thinking the studio was well on its way to completion before the first coffee table or kitchen appliance rolled off the moving van.

Yeah, I can understand the believer part & about not being sure but hoping anyways, etc. But I often see these claims of "MY SOURCE ASSURES ME THAT LINDSEY'S ALBUM WILL BE HERE ANY DAY NOW" blah blah blah ... that's pretty silly to me. People find it hard to believe that I go back so long. But as far as Lindsey is concerned, this is a pattern I have seen repeated -- & I'm not exaggerating -- probably thirty times. So skepticism is really quite healthy in this context.

I've heard & seen "sources" turn out to be oh, so wrong many, many times. And we've all heard promises from the band members' lips themselves just fall into the nether reaches, over & over again until the last syllable of recorded time, blah blah blah. The "assurances" from every corner, every year, year after year, mean nothing after this long. I'm an old man, Romy, & I've learned a little something from history, I like to think.

Besides, who needs a new Buckingham solo album when we already have the ever-fresh masterpiece of quirky pop that is "Law & Order"?

At this point, it would make more sense just releasing a box set...

But could you imagine how long that would take if it were an actual intention? I'd probably wouldn't care anymore...you know, since I probably will have lost my hearing by then.
