At 57 even in the best of health it's pretty risky to try poppin' out puppies.... Wonder why Stevie never adopted. She seems to like children enough.
There's plenty of people who manage career & kids. There are nannys & wings of houses to put 'em in.... & when yer on tour, what's one more limo?

Honestly, I don't think she really wants children. So she weaves this fabulous "I gave all for my art" story as part of her image so society in general doesn't have a negative perception of her for that.
At 57, it would be really unfair (to the child) to adopt a child now. JMHO, of course.

I agree with gldstwmn; I think if she REALLY wanted kids, she would have figured out a way- plenty of celebrities have done it without involving a ton of hired help.
