About a month ago when they first announced this new vaccine, I told myself I will be first in line.

It was about this same time I went to my Gyn. for my pap. I hadn't been for 8 years and I have a history of bad paps, due to the HPV virus. I have been kicking myself in the ass severly. I knew I needed to be going, but I kept putting it off. Pap came back bad, had biopsy done, I'm in the last stages, (Hi-grade-severe dysplasia) before it turns into cervical cancer...whew..I cut it close. I'm going to have the LEEP procedure done next Monday.

So, this really does disgust me!!

Ladies, please get your annual checkups!
I'll be right behind you in line! I have a history of bad paps as well.

The statistics for HPV are astounding. I can't remember exactly what they are, but I think it's close to 80% of sexually active people will contract HPV. Many who have it don't even realize it. And it's the primary cause of cervical cancer. Anything that can prevent it is a good thing. This is just so assinine.

What really frosts my ass is that Bush is putting these neo-cons in jobs that have a direct effect on people's health, and letting them decide what medical treatments I and my family are entitled to.

Thank you for that- I will consider writing a letter. I don't think it would make a huge difference, though. Some people are just so closed-minded that what you have to say goes in one ear and out the other.

HPV has also been found in women that are not sexually active. They're not sure how they're getting it, but they are.

There's much research that still needs to be done about this virus, but to hold back a vaccine to fight it because they think it will make kids have sex more? Ridiculous.

They are complete morons. Of course, this is the same bunch who said women should pray to get rid of PMS.

Is it possible that it is passed from mother to child?

Exclamation Sheebus

I'm surprised that there are HIV drugs out there because they may think that allowing that would cause people to go have more sex.

Morons. I'm sure those jerkwads in Washington have more sex (with various people) than all of the world combined.

ae you kidding? they're some of the weirdest, kinkiest sex hounds there are! it's more a case of "do as i say, not as i do", imo.

Pharmacists are refusing to fill prescriptions for birth control pills, citing their "moral beliefs". Ever since some states started allowing that, I've been waiting for some "jerkwad" (I like that word!) to refuse to fill a prescription for HIV medication because they "morally object" to the way the person may have contracted the disease!
