but there was quite a bit of warning. My husband told me early in the night to make sure I turned off the comp because there was an awful storm coming. I went to bed about 12:30 and 1:30 I was woken up by thunder/lightening and loud ass sirens. But I live in town also, so they were probably closer. I ran to the basement, turned on the tv. to find out what was going on. Realized it was going to be basically at our doorstep in five minutes, so I ran upstairs, grabbed my husband-had the two dogs in tow and we ran back downstairs. I still can't grasp how 5 minutes from my house is a gigantic structure that is non existant now...and my house is perfectly fine......I consider myself very lucky.

Where are you, HomerMcvie? I hope you're ok.
Sorry, I just saw this! Bloomington got almost nothing. I got home from playing at 2:30.....about 3:15, there were a couple lightning flashes(which scared Cash(my dog) to death, as always ). That was it! He went out to pee, and it was sprinkling a tiny bit. I've been VERY lucky. In the past three years, two BAD tornadoes have past by, about 4-5 miles North of me. Knocking on wood!!!

Hi, Thanks for asking! sara1998's right - West Lafayette was out of harm's way. We didn't get more than some strong winds. I appreciate your concern - I haven't had much time for posting these days, but thankfully I was never in any danger from the tornado. I'm just so sorry for the people who did lose their lives south of here. I pray for their families and those injured.

the tornado that hit was at night so not may pictures are going to surface. A hospital across town..(WAY on the other side of town) caught in between lightning strikes captured this image....the tornado was reported 400 yards. That seems kinda big to me...but IDUNNO... anyway..here's the pic:
