I liked that movie actually, but it was a bit stark, not something you would expect in civilized times, then again, there are rural areas that DO harken back to the old ways.......

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! That movie (and doll) scared the pee out of me when I was a kid....I have a doll collection, that used to be kept in an antique secretary desk, w/ a creaky door on it. My brother would crawl into my room at night, open the creaky door and make me think my dolls were coming to life to get me. LOL Especially the African doll my grandparents got me.

Exclamation Eek!!

I'm always curious about horror films, but don't care for them much. I do like The Shining and even though it's more funny than scary...my fave horror movie is The Lost Boys. Jason Patric as a hot vampire, yes please.

I watched that Bravo countdown of Scariest Movie Moments and one in particular had me peeing a little. LOL I cannot remember the name of the movie, but maybe someone can help me out. The scene was a woman in a room (bedroom, I think it was) and all of a sudden, a skinny, old man came out from behind the door and walked RIGHT AT THE CAMERA (I got chills just typing that. LOL) and walked out the doorway around the corner. I sesly wet myself. The Wicker Man....I went to imdb.com to read about it and wow, people's comments about the movie went into this Britain versus America thread. LOL Sounds like a freaky movie and that was on Bravo's countdown too.

ETA: LMAO! I just went to Bravo to try to find that movie and guess what? The countdown is on tonight at 7PM (central)!! I'm gonna watch it again and find out the name of that movie.

That movie is on my list posted earlier in this thread. That is one spooked out scene.

It's from the film, The Sentinel.

They picked some good movies for that list, it was a nice surprise. I was happy to see Audition (my hair stands on end just thinking of that one), The Brood, Don't Look Now, The Tenant, Near Dark, and Freaks on it.

'The Tenant' is one underrated Polanski film. I like it better than Rosemary's Baby. Mia Farrow gets on my nerves sometimes. She's too mousey.

I also really enjoy 'The Ninth Gate' by Polanski as well. Not scary, but a truly riveting story that takes its time to be told.

I'm always up for anything with Lena Olin, but I couldn't get into that one. It kind of fell apart for me in the second half. I do think Death and the Maiden is one of his very underrated masterpieces.

I first saw it when I was a kid (maybe 9 and it was really scary) and then I saw it again a few years ago. I think I will rent it this weekend!
