Anyway, my best friend's kids names are Geneva, River, and Gavin, and my other friends kid's name is Muwazu. So, maybe I just "roll" in different circles.

Muwazu ? Unless that is a family with a heritage from which that word sprung, that seems silly to me. If my parents had named me something like that I would probably have sued them.

On the other hand, I see think it unfortunate that most of the names we use are biblically derived. That concept makes me snicker and recoil simultaneously. But the whole "let's just make up some unusual name" thing also strikes me as bizarre. I would like to think I would name a kid a name that came to me after I saw them. That's what I have done with pets. The name becomes obvious at a certain point. With all the naming silliness I have heard about lately, it wouldn't surprise me if people started naming their kids Sofa, Kite, Speed Bump, or Alka Seltzer.

Yes, she is AFA. It means "strength". Both me and my other friend (the "River" one) are NA. I see your point, though, I guess. But I don't think it applies to "Lynx" .

It would be nice to wait to see what a good name is. But you're supposed to do the birth certificate right there. Not for pets, obviously.

haha...I dont think I would actually do it, just thought it was funny. If I have a daughter, I'm definitely naming her "Mara" (pronounced MAR-uh)

F that. I have a number of friends that left the thing blank for weeks, and went back and changed it later. I think it reads infant smith or whatever, until you go back and change it.

If you like Lynx, than by all means, you need to do what you need to do. I mean, it's your theoretical kid. I was just saying that my own mind came up with a certain image with the name. It would be a kick ass superhero name too.

Yeah, I guess you can wait a few weeks. But I also think your name shapes you, too, and in two weeks it would be hard to tell enough about a baby to find a name that fits their "personality". Hahahaha. Whatev, I don't even have a baby right now. And babies suck anyways.
