Hello!
It seems that some people have doubts as to whether or not the songs posted on The Penguin are Fritz or not. I believe they are, as you can can clearly hear both Stevie and Lindsey, and the variey of quality in the tracks kind of suggests that they weren't done by some pretender. What niggles me is this... A couple of years ago, I downloaded some Fritz demos: When [Will] We Love Again, I Need You, See The World Go By, Anybody Out There and Amber. Listening to them in light of what The Penguin has been posting, they don't sound like the same band, and (this might just be psychosematic) they don't really sound like Stevie to me anymore. I can't remember where I got them from. Does anybody know where they came from, and how they became available? Also, a little factoid for you... You know 'Call Me' by Blondie, from American Gigolo? Well, Giorgio Moroder had written the whole thing and geve it to Stevie as his first choice. She said she'd do it as long as she could change the lyrics, but Giorgio said no and offered it to Kate Bush (can you imagine?). Her reaction was the same as Stevie's. He then gave it to Blondie, and Debbie reacted to the lyrics in the same way as Stevie and Kate. Giorgio, obviously with doubts about his lyrics by now, relented. Debbie rewrote the lyrics and voila! Interesting, that, wasn't it? |

I do believe it is reversed-- the ones that you downloaded a few years ago may not be Fritz. The ones that have been posted on The Penguin were provided directly by Javier Pacheco with significant supportive information. They are, indeed, Fritz. Here is the direct link into the discography too:

Thanks for replying! I wonder where those other ones came from... I think a lot of people had faith in them; there's even a Stevie bootleg album called See The World Go By. I really love everything I've heard on The Penguin... will we be ever be able to download the whole songs? I'm desperate to hear the end of In The Dawn. Also, why are there no vocals for Georgia? I'm desperate to know what they are. That one's my favourite, I think. Stevie and Lindsey sound SO amazing on it. I love Lindsey's vibrato and Stevie's bluesy yodel. Anyway, cheers for replying!!

I always considered those songs to be post-Fritz /pre-Buckingham Nicks. Can anyone else share any knowledge about them?

I just listened to some of these and they were cool. These songs were released last year? What's the story with that? I love Stevie's voice in some of them and she sounds the same but younger. Lindsey had a good voice then too. But why did they get released just last year? Why are there only short parts of the songs? Does Stevie and Lindsey still hook up with them? Anybody?

Javier gave the Fritz stuff to Marty to post a few years ago. He (Javier) only gave us snippets of the songs. I like Georgia alot but Lindsey and Stevie sound so much alike back then I cannot hardly tell them apart.
